Wrx sti, new or used

Lancer Evo, new or used

Used BMW m3

Camaro ss, new or used

Used corvette

Used challanger srt8

If you don't mind an older car you could get a decent mkiv supra for 35k...probably with a single turbo upgrade and lots of extras. It will be waaay faster than anything listed but you'll need to turn a wrench every once and a while

I'd still take a 6 yr old e92 over anything, similarly priced, brand new American.

Mine was great until the engine blew at 32k miles.

The S65/S85 engines sound glorious at full song but are delicate POS. Would never own one out of warranty.

Good deal. The last Camaro I was in, a 2013, still had a real plasticky feel to it.

Always drove trucks. From 13-15 I had a 2013 SHO.
Decided to trade due to miles and needing to be back in a bigger vehicle. But i miss that car everyday.
May not have been my style, but it was badass.

A 2010 M3 can be easily bought in the 30-35K range, but that's not a car I would recommend for the OP's use.

Not too bad, really.

New, the car retailed for 55-56.

4 years later, retailing for 42.

I mean, it's no Tacoma, but still.

I love the M3 coupe but as I have owned a BMW out of warranty, no way! Beautiful car though.

On the Challengers, just not a fan of Dodge products. Besides, with the new indy rear suspension and performance package, it's my understanding the pony car handles better.

I own one out of warranty and it's fine. There are some added costs due to parts being expensive, but its just a matter whether you think they are worth it or not. Of course I stayed away from turbos and automatic transmissions out of preference, but it really helps for cost of ownership as well. I plan on putting 250k on mine.

Have you ever owned a BMW? I have owned several and own one currently. They are maintenance nightmares. All of them.

The 2015 Mustang GT with performance package performs about as well as that M3 if not better, but is reliable and affordable. And it's a great looking car.

Edit: I see you own one.

All fun cars. I'm not a Camaro fan, but didn't they reduce the weight ~200 pounds for 2016. I might test drive/buy one.

more than that. They went from 4100-4200' to 3600 with a more powerful motor(LT1 455/455). It's a monster

My brother has a 2015 with the Cayote engine. That car is badass for sure. I would like to have.

3685 lbs in base form to be exact with the availability of magneride suspension. Chevy really upped their game this go around. I'm glad since this forces Ford and Dodge to respond with something better in the coming years. Competition is good.

The LT1 is a nice motor but direct injection scares me down the road when the back of the intake valves gunk up with carbon buildup due to not being sprayed with fuel as in a port injection setup. In other words, the engine will lose power as mileage adds up. I'm also not a fan of the characteristics of a push-rod motor. It's a torque monster down low due to its big cubes (6.2L) but falls on its face at higher RPMs. DOHC engines make me giddy being able to rev them to 7500+ RPMs with a linear power band.

Literally, incorrect.

That's exactly the car I drove yesterday. $35k sticker with the performance package but it had the stickier tires.

For $31k that is a steal! Although, the stock Pirelli summer tires aren't what I would call very sticky. Throw on some Michelin PS2 or Sport Cup tires for some real stickiness.

I've driven an LS3 equipped Camaro and it was one of my biggest complaints along with the lack of rear visibility. A pushrod motor (other than maybe the LS7 and NASCAR engines) with its single cam in block can't compare to the high RPM capabilities of a DOHC motor. Try revving a stock pushrod motor to 7800 RPMs and see what happens.

I used to watch the tach in Mark Martin's Jack Roush cars and be amazed that they'd run those bad boys up to 10 grand. (on the straights at Michigan)
