Spiders cover town in webs
The leading explanation seems to be that it's gnat season and the gnats are having much more sex in public spaces than usual. This species of spiders eats them.

There was a huge house in St.Louis where spiders took it over. They bombed the f out of it, and last i heard, spiders would not die. It was a really nice home.
