Well Lennon was murdered. So does that mean the death now has to be homicide as well? Because had Lennon been an old old man and died of ordinary causes, would it have been as huge?

I've been living lately with this fear of waking up one morning to sad news about Shaq.

He doesn't appear to be particularly healthy lately, and I'm quite sure he is well over 400lbs.

Musicians and actors are different because their art lives on and is enjoyed continuously after their deaths.

Every time I see this scene from Good Will Hunting I start to get all emotional about Robin Williams again:

We rarely go back and rewatch old sports games. Maybe highlights and stuff and we enjoy the memories of great accomplishments by athletes, but I listen to music or watch movies with dead people in them every day.

I think the manner of death matter's too. Think about it. Lennon - murdered Elvis - drugs; heart attack @ 42 y/o Diana - car chase/crash Michael - OD Kobe - helicopter crash The ones that are sudden and/or violent always have the most impact.

Selena was a pretty big one too. She was on the verge of being a mega star before she was murdered.

I've been listening to the Beatles a lot lately. And I'm an older guy so I listened to them when I was just a kid. And I love them. As I think about it now I'm embarrassed that John Lennon was killed here in the United States even if it was from a crazy a-hole. If I had to apologize to Brits for something, this would be it.

I bet it’s not and that’s a part and parcel of socialists taking over the media. I can even see there not being royalty after her as the UK allows it to fade away. You’ll still have Prince William and Kate, it’s just that there won’t ever be another king or queen, and soon enough there won’t be princes and princesses, and dukes and duchesses and lords

None. The populace is now too splintered and polarized to ever embrace one figure wholeheartedly.

I could see her making it to 2030 and she'd be "only" 103 by then (her mom lived to 101).

If anything just to stick it to Charles even more.

Not everyone listens to music.

Kobe is a household name. Don't even have to mention his last name and everyone knows who you're talking about.
