Fun times reading this. Grew up in River Forest. What about Christie's Chicken? Used to love those chicken nuggets and the sweet and sour sauce.

I have to say I am really impressed Joe's Shoes has stayed in the same location in Mandeville and still exists today.

That is crazy about Joes Shoes.
I remember Times Grill when it was tucked into the corner by the Strawberry Patch. They only had maybe 5 tables in that place. It was more of a bar at the time.

How about the fact that 1088 only had a couple houses on it in the late 90's. Back In highschool, we would drive down 1088 past I12 and drink beer on the road side after the cops would run us off the lakefront harbor

I had more fun jumping off of the old train track bridge into the Tangipahoa River near Hidden Oaks.
Did this a lot myself.

Wait...wasn't IGA what Aquistapace now is? I used to walk over from SSA with my pals and we would get Jelly Beans from there because they had all of the flavors in those giant dispensers. Good times.

My grandma would always take us to Badeauxs to get ice cream and milkshakes. Good call on that one.

I don't know the name of it because I haven't been in downtown Covington for a while, but IGA was the small grocery store by SSA

Yep, IGA is Acquistapaces now. They're doing good. Good meats, cheese, alcohol in that store.

Good ole Bimbo Bay. They would let you in if you handed them something that remotely resembled an ID.

Speaking of snowball stands, the one by Sonic on tyler street in Covington is actually still there, well the building is but I think it's been closed for like 10 years or something. Something spice, can't remember the name.

I honestly handed them my junior year ID from PRHS and they let me in because we won district that year.
