The eighth annual protest against Florida offshore drilling, Hands Across the Sand, will be held Saturday on 25 different Florida beaches, and over 100 worldwide.
The event was created in 2010 after the BP oil disaster. People come to join hands, forming a symbolic barrier against spilled oil and to stand against the impacts of other forms of climate disruption.
The main event will start at 11:30 a.m. on Clearwater Beach with people holding hands around the state, including beaches in Palm Harbor, Indian Rocks, Treasure Island, Sanibel and Tarpon Springs.
Senator Bill Nelson will be joining Clearwater Mayor George Cretekos, local leaders and concerned Floridians on Clearwater Beach

So, nothing, in essence.

1. Liberals castigate Trump and others for sending 'thoughts and prayers' after tragedy.
2. Liberals hold hands and do nothing in response to catastrophe.
3. Liberals fail to see the hypocrisy of their ways.
4. Time for TJ to take a break from starting threads.

You're an idiot. Neither are close to being the same thing. You see, Trump is president of the country with a Republican congress. If he really cared about those killed he would call on congress to pass measures that better protect kids in school i.e. metal detectors, more police, retrofitting schools, etc. But please continue with your bullshite

Bet they don't want to cut off the pipelines supplying their state with natural gas coming from the offshore wells in other states.

Hope they all arrive riding bicycles on pure rubber tires.
Stupid flakes, they'd probably ban drilling nationwide then demand price controls on gasoline.

You do realize state govts, local govts, and communities can put metal detectors at schools, provide additional police man power, create newer designed campus structuring for safety without the stroke of the pen by the president? You are just asking the president to foot the bill for every school in the U.S. You act like only one person can fix the issue when in reality everyone needs to step up and make changes.

You never gonna stop oil by holding hands. You need to lay down that boom and dispersant baw.
Also, sandy beaches are 1 of the easiest environments to clean

I'll be there to protest bad oil! I just need to put 6000 lbs of jet A into my Lear 45 first so I can get there first.
