Not really. Medical facilities have backup generators and a back up to the backup.

for real - my house is a 1/4 mile from a hospital here in Bham, and the power rarely flickers no matter how bad the storm.

Maybe their power was cut off due to lack of payment and thought, "What the hell, I've got no power, let's spread it around".
