I’ve met plenty of accountants. Hard work. Determination. Those are the words I’d use for most. I’ve rarely encountered one that I thought was bright.
I'd have to agree, for the most part, but Poodlebrain was a pretty well rounded, sharp mother fricker for an accountant.
Rip, baw from the land of no baws.

quote:No, it is not a linear scale. IQ scores are only useful to very roughly categorize people by intelligence. As someone else mentioned, the modern scale is set such that 15 points is one standard deviation. Roughly 2/3rds of people fall between 85 and 115, so it follows that about 1/6th of the population have an IQ higher than 115, and 1/6th lower than 85.
It just doesn't seem linear, is it not?
That's it. It is not a number that can be used to compare relative intelligence, except to say that one person is likely to be smarter than another. But given that intelligence is an abstract concept with no true measure, it's all just estimates and guesses.

Yes bell curve, I meant is the actual intelligence gap the same.
80 vs 100 to 100 vs 120.
Actually it isn't the same.
80 to 100 is a 25% increase
100 to 120 is a 20% increase

I’m sure they felt the same about you. What do you do for work?

I took one in middle school given to me by a psychologist. She said it doesn’t measure direct intelligence, just your learning potential.

Average OT IQ is 350.
I assumed it was twice that.

Cool. No relevance to the OP and the point.

A 120 IQ can mentally do all of the jobs an 80+ IQ can do.
An 80 IQ can’t do many of the cognitive jobs a 100+ IQ can do.

It’s very difficult to test a person’s IQ past the age of 5

120 to 100 is simply the difference between a high school graduate vs a college graduate.
Average IQ of a college grad is barely over 110. There's a big difference between grads of elite colleges and the average college grad

I started this thread at 118...now I think it’s lower.

Not true. A higher IQ will be more likely to evaluate other options and responses before committing.

My point was more that a high IQ doesn’t mean you have a high level of education. There are plenty of people with a moderate to high IQ that don’t have a college degree.

'Moron,' 'Idiot,' and 'Imbecile', describe IQ ranges of: 0-25, 26-50, and 51-70. IQs
The military will not take anyone with an IQ lower than 83. Jordan Peterson has a few good videos about this, here is an example Military and IQ
Now you mouth breathers go away, the military took me
