A guy used to do this when I lived on St. Charles. On one hand, nobody wants a bunch of starved to death cats, on the other it stank like nobodies business, gave cockroaches free meals, and you could hear cats banging at night.

Old lady who lives next to my buddy does this.
There are hundreds of cats.
We have discovered a springloaded BB gun to the arse scares them away without doing any real harm.

My grandmother used to do this shite when she lived beside us growing up. Cats were everywhere. They would have a million litters. Got to the point my dad and I would just kill them.

I have no problem with this if she gets them spayed/neutered so 5 cats don't turn in to 100.

I feel all the animals outside. I see a hungry animal, I feed. 
I have quite a few opossums that come around every night. I actually look forward to it.
I can't imagine serving jail time for something like this. Even if it's against the law there.. that's ridiculous to enforce actual jail time. Wow.

Absolutely.
Many places NOW are fortunate to have so many programs now offering this service for free or really cheap now.
Trap, neuter and release.. heck release somewhere else if you must.
So ridiculous people kill out of convenience. That's really fricked up.

My great aunt was a crazy cat lady... But in her defense... They had cattle and it kept mice out of the cattle feed in the barns.... But it was cat Heaven.

I love dogs and cats. I have a cat. I dont agree with feeding a bunch of feral cats but if the ones she is feeding are spayed or neutered, who cares?
And I understand some of you dont like cats but some of the solutions presented are disturbing.

The first home I ever bought came with a feral kitten. I tried for a long time to catch that thing, but with no luck. Well, that first winter I stopped at a gas station on my way to work and heard a meowing coming from the engine compartment of my truck. That cat had survived almost five miles of driving in there. I decided then I needed to keep it. So I took it back home, put it in my shop, and after that, it came up to me whenever I was in there and just laid around from then on. It became the shop cat or KC(short for Kitty Cat) as we called her. We weren’t sure if it was a female or male until I found three kittens under the porch.....then she became MC(short for momma cat). She was a good cat, but was never fully domesticated. When we moved we took her with us, but she took off into the woods, never to return. On occasion, I can catch a glimpse of her as I’m leaving the property and I’ll stop to call MC from the truck and she’ll acknowledge me with a quick glance
