Exact same situation. My ex wife was a stay at home mom and didn't do shite. I woke the kids up for school, made their lunches, took them to school and picked them up, and did 90% of the cooking. And, she had the nerve to state that she needed a break and went on girl's trips at least twice a year. I finally had enough and got the hell out of there. In three months our divorce was final. Then a year later I took her back to court and was awarded custody of our two boys.
I now have been dating a woman 15 years younger than me who is the coolest woman on Earth. We haven't had a disagreement in 6 years and also she never bitches about a damn thing. We will be getting married two years from now after her son and my oldest graduate. My ex has spiraled downhill even further these last couple of years to the point the boys haven't been to her house in months. And, she only lives 3.5 miles from me.

1. Validation
2. Entertainment
3. Love
4. Loyalty
Its all about keeping them happy, validated, and not letting them get bored
That's not sustainable if men continue to prioritize mainly love and loyalty as a whole.
If you are older think about how much the open relationship/ swinger group has expanded in the last 10-20 years. And its not primarily threesomes with women, its just wives/ gf getting railed by other people.
The women get their validation and entertainment while the men are allowed to have a twisted sense of "love". And because the women stay with that partner the men also get a twisted sense of "loyalty".
There's women that think men are audacious or pussies for wanting a relationship where they can't frick multiple dudes. Meanwhile if a guy goes to a girl and does that then they are a disgusting pig. If you think there aren't 10x more lose/ lose situations for guys now then you are blind.
Not letting other dudes frick your wife is now considered an insecurity. You realize how insanely twisted this shite is?

Another piece of advice to young people: Date your significant other as long as you can before marrying. People have the ability to fool you for awhile, but their true personality traits will shine through if you give them enough time 3+ years minimum if you're not living together.

my ex decided i was a terrible person and she was miserable so she acted out in horrible ways including fricking around. i swallowed my pride for the sake of my small kids (or so i thought) until she ran a red light at 9am drunk as a skunk with both kids in the car.
i had a restraing order and custody of my kids until our hearing by 3pm that day.
blah blah long story short court gave me custody and i opted for her to pay $10/mo in child support (she never paid a nickel) and a few short years later met a woman 18 years younger than me and we've been head over hills ever since. in fact i've been married to her twice as long as i was to my ex.
ex is still bitter and even though i have always treated her with kindness she alternates between "i screwed up so bad, lets be friends" and "your new wife is a whore"
sad what my now adult kids endured but our relationship has always been rock solid; esp. as they became adults and realized everything i did to protect them.
tl;dr nobody's life is perfect; not every woman is a trainwreck and we do the best we can given our lot
