Good thing I didn't assume that.

There's no good answer but many more people will be affected for a much longer time if we have another Great Depression.

I guess its selfish that I dont want millions of people to be left broke and homeless.

I'm still working and constantly coming in contact with hundreds of people per day.

Couple points:

1. That is a great method that has been used before. It offers potential to help those severely ill. Hopefully it works well enough.

2. Like Scruffy said, all of these “treatments” are a ways away, especially on a national scale.

That will not be available on a national scale over weeks. This will be months.

A vaccine is way farther out though.

Not my call. I'd be surprised if I haven't had it or will have it in the future.

At the same time, we are having predictions of 24% unemployment on the conservative side and into the 30s on the more aggressive side.

At a point, this “cure” does become more damaging than the virus.

Less poor than it would be with potentially 2 million dead and the virus continuing to linger making the majority of people wary of patronizing businesses, anyway.
Not even close

0.5% of the US population dying, with the majority of those simply being borrowed deaths doesnt impact the economy at all

The truth is we are now hypersensitive to our mortality with the 24 hour news cycle, which right or wrong is why we are in our current situation

I know.

Because no one will be willing to open back up, this is going to extend for a long time and we are going to absolute crush our economy and the lives of millions of people.

Are people still pushing the idea that our economy will just rebound or have people accepted that this will absolutely crush it?

Find the happy medium between complete shutdown and normal life.

Let people be responsible for their wellbeing instead of the government trying to control everything.

I dont what other people are saying but I said 3 weeks ago that if we were shutdown for more than 30 days it would be catastrophic....you can go back and look at my post.

even the big national brands cant survive being shutdown for more than 30-45 days and the trickle down effect will go all the way to the top and crush the banks....it's coming.

the virus is fatal to a very select, albeit not exclusive, group. Make them shelter in place. Let the rest of us go back to making the country viable and prosperous.

but most importantly, let the individual make the decision on what he/she needs to do. Not doctors, politicians, or committees. This is insanity.

England tried that. Didn't work.

Healthcare too. Do you think people that don't absolutely have to are going to flock back to hospitals and clinics like normal when the curve starts to flatten a little? Not a chance.
