Just cut my back yard. Enjoying cutting in the low 60's because in another month will be pushing the high 80's and we all know in the deep south you wont see the low 60's again until maybe mid Oct.

I'm not looking forward to it. I keep telling myself I'm just going to start paying someone to do it but I'm too cheap

It simply depends upon how close your neighbors are to your lawn. In most subdivisions, I would say 7 AM is too early, but sometimes it might be necessary due to weather conditions.

I’m rarely up that early on a Saturday but if I was I have an electric mower anyway so I don’t think anyone would care.

Now my plant baw neighbor who cuts his grass at 6am is one step from getting shrimp juice in his a/c intake.

Cut your grass on a weekday afternoon. That way yard work isn’t messing up my Saturday or Sunday.

Meh....my house is well insulated, apparently better than most, so someone mowing at daybreak wouldn't even register if I was sleeping. So, have at it.

to poor for a yard service

They’re not poor, they are financially responsible and smart. You’d be surprised how many people in their early 60’s that want to retire but can’t afford to since they spent all of that money for several years on lawn services instead of investing it.

Let’s say it’s $100 a month. Put that into a brokerage account and see what that would have turned into in 20-25 years. They could have probably retired in their late 50’s and definitely before 65.

Not everyone has a nine to 5 job and neither do I so I could care less.

If you can't cut grass in the middle of the day then you're not a man and not qualified to have a lawn. Let little Jimmy down the street take care of it while you go get a mani-pedi.

We have pretty decent sized lots. I think mine is around 1/3 acre. It probably wouldn't bother me at all. Maybe if my neighbor was running a chainsaw wide open.

I thought it was common knowledge that 8:00 is the beginning of any type of outside work that might disturb the neighborhood

I don’t spend a fraction of the amount of time as some other posters on here, and I feel like I see this comes up at least 5x a year.

I’m inclined to agree. Green flag at 8 though.

I'm also the same way with calling someone. Mowing or calling are never done before 8am.

8 or after is fine. The thing is, unless you live on top of your neighbors, a lawnmower at 7 AM shouldn't wake most people.

Yea a guy's retirement hinges on him paying for someone to cut their lawn. He is going to retire 8 years earlier because he cut his own grass.

I’ve seen this topic on here before. I have a friend who claims 7:00 am on a Saturday is too early to start a lawnmower in respect of your neighbors. He thinks it’s fine on a Friday, but not on a Saturday.

What’s the OT’s consensus?

Your neighbor is a dumb arse to assume everyone works the same schedule as they do. What if you have a neighbor that is off on Friday, but has to work on Saturday?
