Honestly, it's a study that really goes both ways.
To think women would not appreciate an attractive dude while their mate fades is stupid. Now, the ones who act on it are simply the same dogs men are.

True, but everyone knows the deal with men.
There are countless articles out there (by HuffPo, Cosmo, People, etc) claiming that women cheat because men aren't emotionally available.
When men cheat, we blame the men for being pigs. When women cheat, we blame the men for not kissing their wives asses enough.

It's usually pretty obvious why I man cheats,
With women, there usually are way more reasons. Some that starts with the emotional cheating, some just want to bang a younger looking dude cause the husband is no longer attractive (or never was) and so on.
I plan to stay at least decently attractive until I am 50, then jump off a cliff.

Nothing wrong with getting married if you find someone who offers what you're looking for. And if you offer what that person is looking for.
The problem comes when one of the partners no longer offers what the other is looking for (or even remotely close to it). That leads to a loss of respect.
If you work on yourself, physically and psychologically, there's a much better chance that you'll be able to keep the respect in the relationship. It's not shallow to want to be attracted to your partner. And that goes both ways obviously.
That's my take on it anyway.
