It depends. If she is in a brace probably. If there is swelling of the knee, yes get it done. Plus it depends on what type of tear it is. There are 3 types.

Anybody know who is doing meniscus repair in Baton Rouge/Northshore area for a low risk of Covid issues patient? Seems like would be a good time given the downtime.

1 year ago I had a repair done...one week later I was in the hospital with a pulmonary embolism.(blood clot broke off and went into my lungs and almost killed me). If it were me I would be holding off on any kind of surgery right now.
This was my second meniscus surgery. 3 years ago I had the other knee done...not a repair...they had to just trim out some of it since it couldn't be repaired. I had no issues from that surgery.
But again if it were me id hold off as long as possible.
Are they trying to repair it or just trim out the tear? If repair then I would use it as little as possible to not effect a possible repair.
Good luck...

I waited months for my meniscus surgery. If she can tolerate the discomfort, I would refrain until this bullshite is over. No reason to risk an illness that may turn severe for a procedure that isn’t life-saving.

Taboo and kinky. Not something I would be into, but I won’t judge you.

I'd tell you to find another ortho, but first I'd just tell her to find a solid physical therapist as the benefits of the surgery vs rehab are about the same at her age

Wait!!!! Go to PT and get an exercise program. Work on it at home. Get it done next month
