Did a search on the OT and don't see that this was talked about.
Baw crashes his Jeep on River Rd. near L'Auberge and is transported to OLOL. Ambulance report mentions he was wearing a gold watch. When discharged from the hospital, no watch.
LSP found about $3k in coins (they own a coin laundry) in three bags, in the Jeep. Tow truck company tows Jeep and when owners go to get it, there is only $17.00 in coins in the vehicle.

Jewelry insurance premium on $50k Rolex with a $0 deductible would be approx $350/year.
Lesson learned; sucks that dude had “family heirloom” stolen but frick, my guess is the OG family member that earned the money to buy the watch originally would’ve gotten the insurance.

If he was wearing the watch, why would the Paramedic remove it and place in the patient’s pocket? Didn’t tell hospital staff? Documented watch was present.
If you know the watch is expensive, leave it on the wrist if it doesn’t affect treatment, document it and make the receiving nurse aware. That way you have a witness and remove yourself from the appearance of impropriety.
Sounds like the tow truck driver got him some quarters.

Wife (no pics) got into an accident when someone made an illegal left turn and they collided. Wife’s car was doing 50 mph and she braced before impact. Broke her wrist (has a titanium plate now) and her watch broke and landed on the floor board. Rolex Yacht Master. EMTs put it in a bag and gave it to her. Tow company would have pillaged it

you beat me to it...18038 or 18238 with aftermarket diamond bezel and dial. No where near 50K.
But, not inexpensive and sucks especially with the sentimental value of it. Hate a freaking thief.

tow truck companies are among the worst and most corrupt entities in the country.

I just came here to say frick Riverside towing. A bomb could go off in that place and I would feel sorry for the shrapnel.
