The biggest problem is ADHD which tends to be over diagnosed.

It also gets a bad rep...I coach a lot and can tell when kids who are supposed to be medicated are not.

I would also argue that medication has come a long way since the 80/90s and they have a lot of different types and dosages. Not saying it isn't over diagnosed, but a lot better ways available to treat it today

I don't even know what the hell these are. Don't think they had this BS where my kids went.

Congrats, assholes for going after a kid with autism.

Do you ever sit back and realize how much you suck? I mean, you are awful human beings and deserve all the misery you reap for it.

I can say this with confidence, he has a brighter future than y’all. Peace out, ignorant morons .

Nobody was "going after" your kid, only responding to your vague post asking for clarification. Even with your additional information, the link between the diagnosis and given advantage still isn't clear.

My wife is a school nurse. When she took the job I thought ice packs and puking kids. Nope. It’s full time managing paperwork for a large portion of the population

Still summers off and holidays, but it is no fun for her

When did you even say anything about autism?

Do we need to go back to your previous post where all you said was “he is better at typing than writing”?

That is every human being who was raised with computers.

Truthfully your niece is exaggerating. 50% of any school doesn’t have accommodations. That’s just not true. I’m not saying it’s not out of control, but not 1 in every 2 kids. It should be reserved for legitimate people who really need it.

my kid ran outta time on some sections cause he is average. I wonder if he qualifies. Serious question. Gonna ask his momma. We need every point we can get for him.

At some point a child then an adult has to stand in their own and accomplish their goals. They are only hamstringing their kids by not letting them overcome their weaknesses. I’m not talking about legitimate disabilities of course.

you get into lower socioeconomic schools I bet it’s 50% or close.

Your average 80% white suburban school, prob not. But the lower income segments of our populations learn early early what is provided.

My kid is dyslexic so she needs the extra time. The other kids in her class that get pulled out also need to be in there. I think you're exaggerating.

This is the usual bitch and whine thread on ADHD kids in school. This thread happens every few months, and it's the same every time. A bunch of people talking out of their asses.

I've always felt that people who have accommodations should have to do it twice. Once normally and once with accommodations (and an asterisk)

You're just realizing that?

The entire system is rigged. All smoke and mirrors. The amount of academic and disciplinary data I've seen manipulated over the years is laughable. Multiple levels and layers of safety-net type policies with one goal in mind - skew data in a way where academic or behavioral type shortcomings or deficiencies are 1) not racially identifiable, and 2) not the individuals fault.

If you run a race and half the runners get various levels of head starts or closer finish lines, how do you know who is really the fastest?
