Hunting baws, if you are in need, go out and rescue one.

An assembly line of volunteers stood at the ready as a truck pulled up to the Northshore Humane Society shelter to deliver nearly 50 dogs that had been rescued Thursday morning from a Washington Parish breeder who was not able to keep up with their care.
"Here they are," a volunteer called out as one rescuer rushed into the shelter on Harrison Avenue in Covington, her arms filled with squirming 4-week-old puppies who were first up to get attention from staff veterinarians. Two other volunteers carried out an older dog, trembling with her tail tucked between her legs, amid a cacophony of barking.
The Humane Society launched Operation Hunting for Homes at the request of Washington Parish authorities who had been working with the breeder to reduce his population of hunting dogs, Northshore Humane Society Director Scott Bernier said.

I seriously will adopt.
I am in Monroe, but would make the drive and will contact.
Plenty of space for one of those angels here in this property. .
Thanks for the heads up

If ever there was an instance of a typo/autocorrect mishap changing the meaning of a sentence for the worst, this is it.
Good deal, though. Those look like some nice dogs. People can be crazy and cruel.

Move this to the Outdoor Board and I'm sure more than one of those pups will be in a great home ASAP

If they have an older hound or hunting dog that is ready to retire and live a spoiled life, I'd have an interest in one.
Adopting an older dog is rewarding but it is hard to deal with having to put them down when it is time. I had a super sweet, and previously abused Border Collie male that we adopted. He was blind in one eye and could barely see out of the other. He lasted only five months. It sucks, but most people don't want an older dog.

Right on. Giving an old beat up dog a great last few to several years is a great reward. And god damn the dog usually knows it and is loyal as hell. .

We’ve talked about it before but my last dog was an older border collie and the best damn dog ever.
I was lucky enough to get a few years with him.

I was following this last night. How can a “breeder” do this?

I don’t think most of these dogs are old. I think they are mostly young-ish.

They also look to be in good health. If I weren't so far away I would be talking to my wife about one. Eli needs a girlfriend.

By late Thursday, shelter staff had placed every dog in a foster home, with everything needed from bedding to medication. After a two-week stay in foster care, the dogs will be eligible for adoption, their photos featured on the Humane Society's website.
This is good. Hope all those dogs find tremendous homes. And kudos to those of you already saying you will adopt.
