I feel like more parents need to demonstrate what a lawnmower does. Run some shite over they can see clearly get chopped up to shreds in dramatic fashion. Hell we always stayed far away because of the random rocks that somehow always seem to find their way onto the lawn.

Yep, exactly like having your foot cut off by a mower.

Took care of a woman who was drunk driving a riding lawnmower and went around the tree and got scraped off by a tree limb. The mower in a turning position went round the tree and ran her over. She was a big girl and it sliced one cheek almost off.
I miss trauma. The stories can’t be made up

I'm kind of alarmed at the number of lawnmower accidents that are being reported on this thread

Same here. Closest I came was when I was old enough to mow, I was riding on the edge of the creek on our property which had about a 5 foot drop on the bank.

I got too close trying to cut down on how much I'd have to weedeat. The bank gave out under back left tire but somehow it hung onto the ledge.

If it'd fell on me it could have been real bad.

A few years back a grandpa was riding 2 grandsons on a tractor while he bushhogged. One kid fell off and got ran over by the bushhog. I would kill myself if that would happen to me.

I don't even let my kids around when I am cutting grass much less ride on the mower.

It gets hot, but when I do yard work I wear a nomex. And when I edge I wear a face shield. Some of those rocks or even pieces of dirt become projectiles and I was tired of all the nicks and bruises.

This happens way to often. Lady I work with had this happen to her son last year.. father was holding the kid while on the riding lawn mower. And I see kids riding on lawn mowers way to often... not worth the risk.

It’s insane how many people let their kids play around lawnmowers...but sometimes it’s also kids not knowing to respect the lawnmower and being that they’re so loud, parents often don’t even know the kids are around. If the kid is inside with the other parent, the one on the mower really has no reason to be looking for the the kid and then shite like this happens. I get people say...once you have kids, you’re always conscious they could be around...but why the shite would the parent inside let the kid come outside without fair warning?

It happens just like how many kids drown in their own pools, each parent thinks the other parent is watching the kids, but neither are. The person operating the mower thinks the kids are inside, the mower is loud, they don't realize someone is behind the mower when they back up.

Nah, as long as I able to do it myself, I will mow my own yard. Such a waste of money.

I actually enjoy mowing my yard when I get home after spending all day in an office

When I was a kid, this guy I knew was on a riding mower when it flipped. It took part of his foot off. Of course he showed us because we were 7 years old. It looked freaky.

I sliced my finger open when I was 8 or 9 and mom took me to the ER for stitches. I am laying there in the the room when they bring a dude in the had most of his hand chopped off by a lawn mower blade. That shite was rather traumatizing to a youngster such as myself. I did remember think what type of a moron sticks their hand into a running lawn mower, but morons are bred everyday.

If a residential mower after a certain year cuts in reverse it has to have a mow in reverse feature. The feature is there to remind people to look behind them to make sure they are not running over people.

As in people speculated she was riding on top of a push mower... I would hope her dad wasn’t that dumb
