pitbulls are terrible animals to own, and its obvious.
people try to blame shitty owners, is their argument also that no labs are owned by shitty people. i know trashy people who have labs that they know wont maul a 5 year old. so, is it a different kind of trash, or are trashy people only allowed to own pits?
this guy probably owns a pit

Yeah, the justifications for having them are great. Another quality pit thread.

I got it right first try.
Whether a dog is full pit or is a pit mix, they have more capacity to be lethal than any other. They should not be owned around kids or in the city.
I actually see no reason to own one regardless of your situation. I don't care if you're the world's best trainer, they are not worth it. If you want a rescue dog, there are other options than pit bulls. If you seek out a pit, you're probably a diffident thug or drug dealer trying to look tough and cool.

Piss and moan. Piss and moan. Bad dogs, yes. Bad owners, yes. Which is worse? Who cares? Pits are the only dogs I know whose bites are so vicious. Majority of other breeds bite to say "get the frick off me" and once you're off they slink away. Pits take ownership of what they bite. That person or item is THEIRS.
I love blue pits. That is a beautiful dog, but as the father of a 5 year old I can't have one. Even when he is old enough. Do I NEVER want to live in a neighborhood with kids? Friends with kids never visit.
Took care of a kid last year. Pit attack. Horrendous. That dog tried to eat his head. Each laceration was to the skull. You could tell he bit once then a second time to get a better grip when either the child struggled or the adults swooped in. Half of the lacs were "v-shaped" meaning as they pulled them apart each tooth/fang ripped. These caused multiple v-shaped flaps. Each to the skull. Compounding the problem, this child had dreadlocks. 3-4" dreads which their weight caused the flaps to pull open further one was on the point of a V-lac so it would pull over the entire flap. Second bite also bit farther down. Opened flaps on kids neck. An inch lower or deeper and the kid never makes it past his yard.
I'll never own one. Pits rarely "nip" and when they do it is like a shark "nipping" at something. The damage is done. More often they bite to destroy whatever they caught. Everybody has seen a YouTube or like video of a pit with a chew toy that they just obliterate in 10 seconds. That's what the above wanted to do with that kids head.
Any dog will bite. Pits bite on another level.

bullshite junior.
Chows are #2 in damage and it IS close.
But they are #1 in volume of bites.
Never seen a Rott bite. Could be pure stats though in the Houston area. Many more Pitts than Rotts out here.

This person owns a pit, so they have already demonstrated a lack of common sense.

Probably number one in volume because of the types of people that own them and don't have a clue how to raise them.
Rottweilers actually have a much stronger bite.

Pretty interesting facts in the link below. For starters, they test higher than 121 other breeds in temperament tests...
They also test higher than 121 other breeds in killing folks. Anyone who owns one of these things is an irresponsible piece of trash.

Pitbulls get a bad rap on here but chihuahuas bite way more people. I have a rescue pit and he sleeps with my kids and wouldn't hurt a fly
