Why is a 12 year old riding on a school bus with elementary school children?

I went to an elementary school that was k through 6th grade. Pretty common...

I can’t even fathom this.

A 5 year old can do very little against a 12 year old so this would make me lose my mind

Holy shite. Have you really led that sheltered of a life as to not realize it’s quite common for kids ranging from 5 all the way up to high school age to ride the same bus? Have you really never heard of a “k through 12” school?

I’m convinced busses are the top places for children to become victims.

We’ve had some serious issues with our kids. My 8 year old is forced to sit with a 12 year old on opposite ends of the bus from his 15 yr old brother. So far this 12 year old has taught him cuss words, stolen his snack money, and showed him how to google porn.

School won’t kick the 12 yr old off the bus because they know that’s the only way this kid is gonna get to school. Been dealing with this over Christmas break and about to go off when everyone is back in

When my oldest (he’s 17 now) started school we initially let him ride the bus. That only lasted about two weeks until he came home and asked us what a pussy is.

Good friends of mine had this same type of issue.

They finally just started taking their daughter to school since nothing was ever done to the “protected” older child.

We never let it happen. Granddaughter was always brought to and picked up from school. Seems the kids on the buses were more like animals than humans.

Yep.

Driving my kids to catholic school >>>>>>>>>> Letting them take the bus to public school.

It may cost me a pretty penny but it's so worth it as frick stories like these and the OP happening to mine.

The 12 year old is a girl. She has an autistic brother, 9, who aided her in torturing the little girl.

The 12 year old has 5 juvenile counts against her. The other attacker, the 9 year old boy, has been moved to the short yellow bus and special ed classes, instead of being charged.

Exactly

A 5 year old would be in 1st grade

A 12 year old in 7th grade.

Because the school teaches both elementary and middle school?

5 counts? Juvenile detention and some serious counseling are in order.
