Maybe if the cops were working the streets, and not taking down statues...

No, you're wrong. Those statues coming down is what will stop the violence and start the healing.

Anyone here offer to pay for those statues and put them on your own private property? No? Weird. Thought you boys were ballers.

Guess not.

If I had ultimate power, I would take the removed statues and put them in Mitch's front yard.

I would put a statue of Mitch in a clown suit where the Beauregard statue used to be.

They would remove it, and I would replace it.

Officers were called about 10:45 p.m. to the 4900 block of Treves Street where a 59-year-old woman said she was in her driveway when a man on a bicycle demanded the keys to her vehicle. She threw the keys at him and started screaming, at which point her son came out of the house, according to a preliminary police report. The suspect shot at the son and the son returned fire. The suspect then fled in the vehicle.

Police were also called to investigate three armed robberies, a simple robbery and two property snatching reported Tuesday into Wednesday morning:

An 18-year-old man told police he met a man to sell him a Playstation. When they met, the suspect threatened the victim with a gun and stole the game console. The crime was reported at 7:35 p.m. in the 2200 block of Cobblestone Lane.

A 32-year-old man had a gun put to his head during an armed robbery reported about 1:50 a.m. at Caffin and North Claiborne avenues. The gunman demanded the victim's money, and left with his wallet.

An 18-year-old man reported a simple robbery at 4:06 p.m. in the 100 block of Bourbon Street. He told police that he was walking when a man demanded his belongings. The victim complied and the suspect fled, police said.

At 9:41 p.m. in the 700 block of Canal Street a 57-year-old woman told police that a man snatched her purse and ran.

A 42-year-old Lucky Dog vendor told police she was robbed at 3:21 a.m. Wednesday at Royal and Canal streets. A man tried to buy a hot dog from her, but when he handed her a $20 bill, an unknown man snatched the money out of her hand and ran, according to NOPD.

At 5:13 a.m. Wednesday, in the 1000 block of Bourbon Street, a 25-year-old woman told police that a man on a bicycle tried to grab her bag. A struggle ensued, during which the suspect told her that he had a gun and would shoot her if she didn't let go of the bag, according to NOPD. At some point, the bag strap broke and the bag fell to the ground. The suspect picked it up and fled, police said.

Like someone called it earlier in the thread, Noleppo.

That city is a shithole and Mitch is an absolute failure of a mayor.

Compression to what it used to be, Juarez isn't really a dangerous place these days. Tourism has even picked up a lot in the last few years

Send your comments to: mayor@nola.gov

Just send your emails to Mitch directly. I'm certain he reads every one of them personally.

Yeah, but all the news coming out of here isn't bad. Home invasions are down compared to a particularly bad run in January.

Relevant to this situation, the Legislature today tabled HB 424, the bill by Rodney Lyons, after being successfully lobbied against by citizens including members of our Home Defense Foundation.

The bill would have impacted our Castle Doctrine which is specific to home invasions.

As a matter of fact Yes I did contact the Mayor's office to purchase the Beauregard Monument but was told it was sold months ago.

How much they asking? Tell Mitch I'll give him about $350 for either Beauregard or Jeff Davis. One of those will look a lot better in my garden instead of a fricking gnome.
