The media isn’t freaking out about this mass shooting? Hmmmm.

Total credit to citizens of Homewood, Mtn. Brook, etc for having the vision in the 60s and 70s to incorporate and have its own PD that responds immediately to urban riff raff
Homewood is one a the starkest contrasts within a city I have seen. Go one block east of Greensprings and you have one of the nicest areas in the state if not the southeast. Nice old and renovated homes that are $400k and up. Sidewalks with elementary school age kids walking to and from school on their own. Nice Cafe style restaurants in a small neighborhood center. Well manicured lawns. The whole 9. Greensprings and west? Whores, bums, crackheads, liquor stores and title loan places.
100 yards and a treeline separate idyllic suburbia and a drug ridden dystopia.

20th street leading into South Side would be packed bumper to bumper both directions. Massive crowds were everywhere frequenting the usual spots. It was normal for it to take 20 minutes or so just to drive up the hill to the fountain
That’s how I remember it… was a very fun place to hang out or just Cruise around.

I can remember when I noticed a change in atmosphere. It was when a certain element picked The Break as their new hangout. All of a sudden midnight sushi at Sakura stopped being such a good idea.

Seems like it's the same story over and over with most decent sized cities in the South.

Were any Altimas harmed in the making of that video?

On Facebook page "Birmingham Anonymous" there is graphic video of the aftermath in comments. Disturbing stuff so don't click on it if not able to deal with that kind of stuff.
Usual suspects

Yep and then that shooting at Banana Joes which used to be Five Points South Music Hall… I went to a lot of concerts there back in the day. Saw Smash Mouth, Third Eye Blind, Fiona Apple, Koran, Limp Bizkit, and others.
A certain Culture ruins a lot of things.

The problem we have is that my wife's knowledge of her home town is from the mid 90s and prior.
So she'll take me to places that she remembers being cool and we find ourselves in the hood. It turns out that a lot of places can change in 30 years

Multi family zoning and Section 8 are the disease causing the symptoms such as this incident. In order to "integrate", many liberal cities target majority white middle class neighbors for zoning and Section 8 changes. It has happened where I live. Built 1000 unit apartments and dictate that 20% must be Section 8. Next thing is that mass transit (city bus stops) show up. These are apartments that run $2000 per month for a 2/2. Then the KFC bags and big gulp cups show up on the sidewalks.
Pretty sure one of Obama's biggest initiatives was to bring the ghetto to the suburbs and he did in a lot of cities through federal grants for multi family housing development.

Yep, one dude asks his weed/powder hookup to meet him at the Break one night. Dude 's eyes get big at all the money and zero competition milling around every weekend. His clientele are happy because they don't have to drive out to Norwood or Westend and wait at the end of a dead-end street for some kid on a bicycle. A month or so later, more and more dealers start to circle around, their crews follow along.
Within 6 months someone gets shot outside a 311 concert or some shite.

Yes and the residents on the east side complain about the dumbest things, while the PD is tied up dealing with the west side.

Yes. He pushed this from multiple directions like you mentioned. Biden did something as well, but I can’t remember it off the top of my head.
People who can afford it on their own are going to be more educated and more respectful. Instead of being appreciative those gifted it think the neighborhood and apartment complex should change for them (like refugees and mass illegal immigration). Flight begins, but some can’t afford to do so until too late for falling value of house or retire during the fall and have to deal with the trash their govt drops off at their front door.

I'm typically one of the first to point out this hypocrisy, but Reddit is the barometer here.
It's on their front page.

No they couldn’t. Because demographics are destiny.

Incorrect. The notion that it’s even remotely a consistent equal mix across the Democrat spectrum committing these crimes is nonsense.
It’s blacks. It’s almost entirely black males under 40.
