I went there on regular basis in high School.

Note - Quills was called the Silver Maple back then

I have a scar on my chin today from a brawl at the Silver Maple on a Thursday night in 1976.

Took 6 stitch's to fix my dad was kind of pissed off when I called from the hospital to have him approve calling in a "plastic surgeon" at 1Am.

I mean yeah, it was Coachella out there. It was kinda strange that they all thought this was an EDM festival.

But it was still a highly annoying shitshow just to be within 20 yards of them. I'll stick to my usual spots.

5 people?

Is that all???

Those are rookie numbers.

I was outside The Boot one night in 1990 or 1991 around 3am- outrageous commotion inside- everyone ran out the front door- dudes bleeding, girls screaming, one guy swinging a pool cue (who was also bleeding), another dude with a broken Jack Daniels bottle swiping at people.

Got a safe distance away and enjoyed the show watching bouncers and drunks beat on each other until the NOPD showed up (easily 5 or 6 police cars) and arrested about 20 of the combatants.

Yes, plenty of high school and college kids get in fights there. Always have. Same for Red Eye. You don't hear of people getting stabbed or shot, though. Something just doesn't sound right.

I got hit with a belt buckle a dude was swinging at another person.....that's how we did it back in the day.

Wonder how many cities have people talking about bars as high school hang outs?

Pretty much everywhere that you can get in a bar at 18. High school kids at bars isn’t just some NOLA thing

Day drinking at 730am is impressive AF even on Mardi Gras day.

Tequila Sunrise is no joke. Bar doesn’t shut down and is slammed until the morning. Did that a handful of times in college.

One of my friends was stabbed at FnMs one night a few years ago

Again you’d think undergrad bars are just scuffles and brawls. But every once in a while some kid will go nuts and might stab someone.

Yeah, we have kids out most nights right in that area. Its a battle every day keeping them from spilling over. Mostly the drunk girls are the problem. Dudes, even if pretty hammered, see the logic in not pushing up on kids on ladders.

19 year old girls, when hammered, dont understand why they cant kill a child for a bead.
