5 cokes, McDonalds, and Dairy Queen - The Secret to Riches and Long-Lasting Life?

Warren Buffet - 88 years old - drinks 5 cokes a day and eats fast food.
On another note - What does someone like Buffet do all day at work? Just analyze numbers?

At 88 years old, Warren Buffett’s infamous all junk food diet Opens a New Window. hasn’t slowed him down one bit.
The billionaire admitted in an hour-long interview with the Financial Times that he still gulps down five cans of Coca-Cola a day, eats McDonald’s chicken nuggets at least three times a week and loves Dairy Queen ice cream for dessert.
quote:
“I’m not bothered by the thought of my death,” Buffett told FT, noting that despite his age and poor eating habits, he stills “jumps out of bed” every morning to go to work and has no plans on retiring any time soon.
quote:
“I checked the actuarial tables, and the lowest death rate is among six-year-olds. So I decided to eat like a six-year-old. It’s the safest course I can take,” Buffett told Fortune.

Not post on message boards. No read social media. I think it is more what he doesn't do all day that is important.

It’s a genetics thing. Look at the person that never smoked a day in their life having lung cancer and passing at 43 and the person who smoked 40 plus years and dies at 85.

Is Buffet a financial genius or did he luck out with his initial investments?

he has said that this point he pretty much...
1) Makes/approves all major (major as in a billion or more) business acquisitions
2) Hires/fires/reviews his senior staff including some of the larger subsidiary CEOs
3) Meets with a bunch of college kids - something like over 100 schools a year send students to spend the day with him
That's about it. He has a couple of guys who manage the stock portfolio, and several division execs that manage entire groups of subsidiary companies.

both. plenty of financial genius have made fatal financial errors. He would tell you he is lucky to be born in the united states during one of the best market runs in history. He will tell you he is lucky interest rates have been so low. He will even tell you he is lucky on a handful of investments.
The thing Buffett is that makes him most successful isn't luck or genius it is that he is emotionally stable. Many just cannot handle the ups and downs of investing even financial geniuses. They panic.

Little bit of both
He bought a textile mill that wasn't profitable but threw off a ton of cash. Instead of reinvesting in the company, he basically let the company die and invested in a bunch of other companies, which were great investments. And off he went.
But insurance is what made him big. He realized that if he held enough insurance reserve cash, he could keep the earnings off of that cash and put them to use.

People like Buffet do whatever they want all day.
That is the point of becoming that successful. You do whatever you want.
Want to meet with a new business partner? Sure. Don't want to? frick it. Literally don't have to do anything.
