I’m guessing that 99% of people who receive that check will go cash it and blow the money within 24 hours

'Cause they overtaxed us and need the votes. If Georgia was solidly red it wouldn't have happened they'd have pretended like needed more money.
I just sent them a check for $350 for last year. Owed them $302 but added $48 for late fees and interest. I assume they will be sending us a check for $500. I'd have been happier if they'd just kept the $150 difference and told me to forget about sending a check. Sending a check required first finding a damned check, filling it out, filling out the form required to submit the check, printing the form, finding an envelope and a stamp and worst of all going to the damn post office to mail the check 'cause they have made that process simpler and no one can figure out how to mail shite from our neighborhood. It used to be so complicated to open the mail box, insert the mail, flip up the red flag and sometime during the day a person would drive by and get it and send it on its way. Now we have to have a key to send mail and no one has the key LOL.

You can pay your Georgia state income tax using an ACH debit, which essentially functions as a bank draft. This is one of the electronic payment options provided by the Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR) through the Georgia Tax Center (GTC).

The state of Georgia does not run a deficit. There is no deficit to pay off. So when they receive more in taxes than what their expenses were for the year, they rebate it to the taxpayers (not just anybody with an address). Well, that's the Republican way. But you'd be right if it were Democrats in charge with extra money. They'd damn sure find some way spend it on extra shite. Stop acting like this is vote-buying.

Is Church's better than Publix fried chicken? I haven't had the former in a very long time.

Yes sir.
Honest question to the posters in Texas, TN, and Florida. Yall have no income tax but you get killed in sales tax and property tax. And probably some other taxes I don't know about. When your states end up with a budget surplus, do they send the difference back to you? Or do they find extra shite to spend it on?

You can if the Georgia DMN has the correct birth date on your drivers license and did not frick that up in 1982 and has proven incapable of correcting it ever since despite numerous efforts on their and my parts. You can if the AGI on your prior years income tax return matches what the Georgia Department of Revenue has on record and the system will allow you to enter than number into the system as it is written on the 1040. If, however, you have a representative from the Georgia Dept of Revenue on a conference call and they share their screen with you and all 3 numbers match exactly but the system says they don't that representative will tell you youre gonna have to mail a check.

People have been ranting and raving over Publix fried chicken for decades, but I've never thought of it as anything more than mediocre-at-best.
Churches definitely better.

Well, that's a unique and fricked up situation that is completely irrelevant to 99.9999% of people and has nothing to do with Kemp buying votes.

The Publix I eat fried chicken at is better than mediocre. By a lot.

Georgia currently has a debt, not a deficit, of $19.95 billion dollars. This vote buying scheme could pay that down by the $1 billion the vote buying scheme is costing the state and over the life of that debt it would save taxpayers about $70 million according to the State of Georgia.
It is most certainly a vote buying scheme because it is a flat amount based on filing a tax return, not how much of the over collection you contributed to. Many Georgians will receive a rebate check having filed a tax return and having NO Georgia income tax burden at all but they will receive the same rebate as a similarly situated filer who paid a million dollars in state income tax. Many state residents file a return with no tax burden because it is required by law if they have income and it entitles them to various credits that result in cash in their pockets despite having paid no income tax during the year. It is most certainly a vote buying scheme.
