That’s really pretty desert country east of BB.
I’ve got a former coworker who bought land outside of terlingua (other side of BB) about 20 miles in the middle of nowhere. Spent a fortune to build on top of a rim, with a small pool and outdoor BBQ kitchen etc.
6 months after moving in a massive storm rolled up the canyon and blew their house down. They weren’t hurt and rebuilt in the same place.
The one complaint they have is all the city slickers buying small parcels of cheap land and putting up shanties they never maintain or even stay at.

I think if we can afford the property we can afford antibiotics.

Its too hard for most to cross there
we just let them in when they go the easy route

China is about to buy that.

That's a huge amount of acreage, one or two million bucks a year just to barely maintain it.
Throw in a couple fixed wing aircraft and one chopper to make it easier.

I read an article one time about people living in places like this. The kind of people drawn to these remote areas and the lack of nearby law enforcement means that disputes between neighbors frequently happen and can get out of control quickly.

Even if you could come up with the $268M the local property tax would bankrupt you. No state property tax though. I’m sure some Chinese Investment firm will be scooping that up soon. Good luck.

not much border crossing going on out there. it's pretty much a death trap for someone getting caught out in the desert, especially this time of year. it's just too remote.

I can go halves on this but no more.

What are the mineral rights and transfers like in TX? I know Louisiana and Mississippi are very different than each other.

I'm sure American Prairie will buy it.

Another interesting fact. Even if you were able to purchase it, there would be thousands of acres of that property your eyes would never see before you died.

Depends, can you shoot trespassers in Tejas?

Probably remote enough to just zap them and walk off.

Could you imagine the arguments about what’s a cull and what isn’t, and how to boil crawfish for the annual spring work weekend?
We'll just have to build a Sonic on the property.

Would be a nice summer getaway when we get tired of the house in the Bahamas.
