Let me just say this about the Pinehurst area.
I’ve been in my line of business for 20+ years. . Sales. Sales mgt, to what many would consider some of the most respected members of the community.
Not cars, not blue collar type shite. . I’ve seen and heard all kinds of crazy shite. But the stories that have come out of Pinehurst the last 15 years beats them all for such a small community. I don’t know what it is about that place.

Because there are two wholly incompatible cultures within this country and have been for some time.
Now the urban/woke culture is trying to force itself on the suburban and rural areas with the help of the media and current government.
Anytime in history that you have one culture trying to force itself on another group you are going to have problems.

Depends on what you go with. The ROI for a generator is much different than solar + ESS. There are far too many variables to say if it will money out without doing a specific design. Some do, some don't.
