I was in my early 20s.. And I don't know how I remember this, but you saying this reminded me of this, but it was early morning and I was in the front yard for whatever reason. There was a stop sign in front of the house and I remember hearing "we be clubbin" by Ice Cube coming from a vehicle that stopped at the stop sign. I was between two cars so they couldn't see me, but it was a guy I knew, who, at the time was in his late 30s, early 40s.. Your typical polo wearing, father and husband... He actually runs his own company... But it was early and I guess he thought no one would see him, but he had it kicked up, dude was singing and bobbing his head. But I am 40 and I listen to current rap music...

I always have to laugh when some holier than thou fakes act like they are outraged because someone said n... or some other slang word in a certain context like they (along with every other person they associate with) haven't said the same or similar things before. N... please. It's used in culture all the time in America (especulially down here in the south). It's not a cosmic event every time it's uttered.

I mean, I’m not gonna lie, i will drop an N Bomb in a rap song in my vehicle in a heart beat. I ain’t even sorry about it.

Don’t make catchy rap songs if you don’t want white people saying the N word when listening to it

Interesting comments from a representative of the school, and Black Action Movement 2.0 (BAM), a Miami student group, in their local paper.

OXFORD

A video showing four Miami University sorority members singing a black racist term has led to their expulsion from their organization.

The video, which a story in The Miami Student describes as showing the four white female students singing a popular rap song and repeatedly using an African-American slur that starts with the letter “N,” was posted on social media.

Officials of the Delta Zeta Sorority said the four women were expelled Monday from the Miami chapter of the sorority.

Miami University Spokeswoman Claire Wagner applauded the expulsion action of the sorority, but said there are no provisions under the school’s student discipline policies that apply to the incident due to constitutional free speech allowance.

“Bigoted speech is still protected free speech so I don’t see this as a case that will go through any (school) disciplinary process,” said Wagner.

But she added, “the sorority acted very responsibly because what the students did in this case violated their organization’s terms of being inclusive and non-discriminatory.” ...

...The incident is the latest high-profile racial incident involving students at Miami’s main Oxford campus.

Last week members of a Miami student group called Black Action Movement 2.0 (BAM) presented a list of demands to top university officials — saying the actions they advocate will improve what they describe as toxic racial environment at the school.

BAM issued a statement on the Delta Zeta incident on social media, saying its student members “applaud Delta Zeta National’s response to this intolerant video.”

“They acted quickly to remove the women whose used derogatory language and issued a statement condemning the actions within days of the event occurring. We expect similar responses from other fraternities, sororities, and organizations when these type of incidents occur,” said BAM officials.

BAM officials said more meetings with Miami officials and public demonstrations are coming to the Butler County school, which has a black student enrollment of about 4 percent. ...

Is it really a slur if it’s in the song?

kinda like how you're a racist if you say 'colored people' instead of 'people of color'

Colored people is a term created by white power to use derogatorily against black people.

People of color is a term created by black people to describe themselves.

Nothing racist or illogical about it. It's a term of preference.

My opinion---

If it was a David Allen Coe song they were repeating the words to, it would have been racist.

Singing the lyrics in the same manner Chris Brown and the other chap sang them is not racist.

I could be wrong. But I'm not.

When will blacks start worrying about other blacks slaughtering each other instead of a silly word?

To be fair, they were kicked out of their sorority by a bunch of white phonies.
