There certainly is a shift in the industry and menu prices are going to propel that

Will chains survive??

Hooters Destin wasn’t taking orders online or pickup due to lack of staff. Manager said currently had about 60% or normal staff.

Bubba Gumps (I know but each family member gets to pick) seating less than half their tables due to lack of staff.

Pizza place we always order had just one driver and apologized for time to deliver.

Good news is the tiki hut at beach has plenty of waitresses and as always a reasonably cute FSU student (will get pic tomorrow). FSU girls are fun.

Volume of people here largest I’ve seen for this week and have been coming the same week for 22 years.

Yeah, I usually to on vacation to eat at Hooters, Bubba Gumps and Dominos. How was Chillies?

Big thread on Nextdoor recently about a 15% service fee, 2% resort fee and an automatic 25% gratuity adding 42% to a bill has locals thinking twice about eating out.

Seaside definitely has to be struggling. There was never (much) housing that way to begin with. All the developers I guess assumed people would just appear.

Thanks for the $9 ice cream scoop.

Dems got their min wage max increase through the back door.

Its obvious we need more automation. People don't want the jobs.

Import more J-1 students. They're faaar better workers than Americans.

They need to import some Eastern European females to these areas to fill the jobs.

Just don’t apologize to the counts that are criticizing where you ate. They are the people that deserve a pillowcase full of padlocks.

It was, and I have no idea how they screwed it up. It was a major cash cow. The owners/family were asking publicly for loans on Facebook a few years ago to get it back up and running. Major tale of mismanagement.

Harbor Docks is not what it was 5 years ago. Just my humble opinion. Still good. But not what it was 5 years ago. The best place in Destin was Acme when it was at the wharf. But I like oysters, beer, tequila, and the piano bar around the corner. The “new” Acme is ok. But it is now a tourist restaurant.

When we shop at Commons thats our go to place. But we do try out the places on the bay and Gulf like The Back Porch, Boshamps., Tailfins, etc, etc
