300k Chinese nationals study in US universities compared to 1k Americans in China

Are Americans just dumb to where we have to poach from China? That China can be on par or just below the U.S. in every metric without having to import other citizens?
Is it that the U.S. refuses to invest and grow their own citizens to become the future scientists and engineers?
Or is it that China sends their students to the US to reap the rewards and bring them back home using our system to rival us?

Well, where would you rather go to college?
Here's the answer: there are a lot of Chinamen that can afford to pay out-of-state tuition and possibly donate money to institutions in order to gain prestige for their children. Universities are more than happy to fatten their coffers, of course.

When you have an open checkbook called the taxpayer, you invite the world.
And it’s not like they are all at Harvard. There are Chinese students at LSU.
Also most of them are at universities in California.

Y'all are misunderstanding what is happening. The Chinese government is paying for these people to get educated in America and they must return to work in China. More than 50% of the pathology residents I see are from China and are going back to China. It's not unusual to see 90% foreigners in the residency classes that all intend to go back to their country, and oh, its almost impossible for a white male to get in...

I can tell you, this is the wrong hill to die on.
Chinese nationals study here because we consistently welcome them and offer the greatest education. Part of that greatest education title is because of that demographic.
There has been some short sighted ignorant shite go on with this administration, but this near the top.
We aren't the greatest country in the world because we have Ol boy Landry workin the oil rigs. We are the greatest country because we develop the best minds, innovate greater than any other country, and research greater than anywhere in the world.
At the root of that greatness is immigrant/migrant education.
Hard to think of a situation where we are shooting ourselves in the foot more than this. All because our old arse populace is too stupid to realize that 80% of these "libs" are bots.

Educational tourism is a big money maker for the govt and universities.
UK as opposed to US but I know my uni used to charge 3 times the amount and they had to pay upfront rather than in 3 installments.

The admin isnt going after Harvard because they think too many foreign students are going there (at expense of American students). They are going after Harvard’s ability to admit foreign students because Harvard is refusing to work with DHS to address Muslim foreign student antisemitism.
If the admin wanted to categorically reduce foreign students in America, the could do so tomorrow via visa orders. They aren’t. They even gave the Foreign Harvard students the ability to transfer.

I don't watch the news, so I haven't been given the talking points for either side, so forgive me for the question that may have been answered and drilled into heads already.
But why do they care about what religious group thinks what about another religious group? And why in the world would Harvard acquiesce to such an absurd request? That is not an ounce of their business. It wouldn't be their business if it was reversed.
Am I missing something?

That has only applied, historically, when “American ideals” are exported as the migrant returns home.
This doesn’t happen with the chenques. They are simply sending them here to 1) be educated, 2) clog up the pipeline, and 3) possibly steal some IP along the way.
