Yes sir, $450 charged on the card every month. Then there is private lessons at $75 an hr, competition fees, choreography, song production, costumes, warm up outfits (personalized of course), make up & hair and gym fees. There are other costs, but I try not to think about it.
That is bullshite. Gymnastics isn't a fkn beauty pageant. You are getting ra...ked across the coals
ETA - I hope she gets a college scholarship to pay you back

I’ve got 2 daughters in WOGA. I pay a small home mortgage for it.
My oldest is age 9 and lvl 8 though.

She started very small and minimal at age 4. Like basic trampoline and tumbling.
She didn’t start all around events until age 6.
From lvl 8 and up at our gym, it’s two a days. Morning is about 3 hours but mostly stretching light skill work and conditioning. The afternoon is event work.
Home schooled obviously.

From what I have seen girls start dropping out around this time. But she is in a small group currently 4 girls her age at this lvl at our gym. Some older lvl 8s though.
All of the girls that go elite have been offered scholarships. Most of the lvl 10 get them.
It’s up to her. We don’t make them do it. If she sticks it out and stays focused, I think a scholar ship is a very good possibility.
OU, UF, LSU, UCLA etc always visit.

Why is it that the most uneducated are the first to call someone else stupid? Deflection perhaps?
It is clear that most of you are poor and stupid.
Everything I said is correct, Dave Ramsey is like BRCC for finance.
If you think I am wrong, that simply proves where you are in life.
Keep doing you..... and 95% of you will end up the same. Broke and full of regrets. Doubt me?? Time will tell.
I should have known better than to talk anything above high school level finance with "ot ballers."

Yeah but think how much you stand to gain from suing the B1G for sex abuse in 15 years?

I have a buddy that claims he spends $1500 monthly on travel cheerleading. Last year she broke her arm and she still had to go on the weekend trips three states away to “support her teammmates”
The girl is 9. I really thought I was going to see a divorce over it. Him and his wife were fighting all the time about it.

His advice is good for the masses. People are generally really bad with money. I work with PhDs that can’t make it until the end of the month. Like feeding their families bagel bites with $100k + incomes.
But I agree with you. Debt is a terrible master but a wonderful slave. But very few people are smart enough to do it.

I paid $260. And then meet fees and leotards etc. Bit it worked out because she won a state meet one year and made All State as a freshman. She’s good nowhere near elite. Best of all she’s 15 and works as a gym teacher now, private lessons etc, so I feel like we are getting it back.

At least gymnastics is a fully funded sport. All the softball and baseball travel ballers spending $10k a year and an average scholarship is worth about the same as a 24 on the ACT - about $2500 a year.
Parents of young ones. Best bang for your buck is tennis or golf. A decent tennis or golf player, especially a girl, can get a sizable college scholarship.

I have a 10 yr old level 3, like Mike. It's her 5th year in gymnastics now, and they practice 12 hours per week, 4:30-8:30 MWF, plus Saturday or Sunday meets during competition season.
I can also confirm that it is not cheap. I'm missing the Bama game for her state championship next weekend... but that's ok.

I don’t understand threads like this
Market forces.
If no parents were willing to pay $300/month for little girl gymnastics, they wouldn’t charge $300.
They charge that because people are willing to pay it.
