I had a good friend that had a rough year in 2022. Her and her husband had traveled down to key west for New Years. She said she was very happy to say goodbye to 2022, believing 2023 was gonna be good. Pulled up to a beach to celebrate the New Years at midnight. They parked just seconds before midnight, parked and looked at the beach. First thing they saw in 2023 was a group of men pulling a body from the gulf. I won't repeat the words she told me she said.

Is this your attempt to crawfish on your statement that my comment about old ladies in Hilton Head getting killed by alligators is "ridiculous?"
I didn't say it was "ridiculous", I said it was dumb. It is dumb to draw a comparison between two people living their daily lives on their own property to people who willfully made a decision to go into the ocean where there is a chance for them to be attacked by all sorts of shite, including sharks, without any way to defend themselves. It is dumb because the comparison makes no sense.
I'm not crawfishing on calling your comparison and premise dumb because it is dumb. Just stop being dumb and drawing comparisons where there are none.
ETA: And if you believe "wildlife management" (if you're being honest by what you actually mean by that) is the solution to animal attacks you're dumber than I initially thought.

If a hiker goes in the woods and gets mauled by a bear, oh well, shouldn't have gone in the woods. Stay in your safe space. If a guy is mowing his lawn and runs over a yellow jacket nest and dies from Anaphylaxis, it's his fault for mowing his lawn against Mother Nature's wishes. If an old 70+ woman is walking to her car at a restaurant in Yellowstone and a bison gores her in the parking lot, it's her fault for walking from the entrance to her car in the parking lot. If a Hilton Head resident in a retirement community is refilling her bird feeder and a large alligator comes out of the lagoon and kills her, it was her fault for refilling her bird feeder.
You’re trying too hard

Same. We were in the water for 3 days 100 yds from that Okaloosa fishing pier.

I'm dumber than you initially thought, in your terms.

Too crowded anyway. Not the same place as it used to be.

Transporting my 13 yo niece from Winfield to Lourdes WCH was about $16k.
Is that out of pocked? I figured it'd be way more than that. That's only half as much as the rabies immunoglobulin and vaccine I got last year.

Isn't "their own property" actually once (and still) the alligator's natural habitat? How is that different then the shark's natural habitat?

Yes.

This is insane. A random shark encounter (a smallish bite and immediate release) is par for the course along the gulf coast once a month in the summer. What is NOT random is more than one in a week, Three in one day?...in the same general area? And violent attacks involving loss of a loss of limb?
I am 56 and have lived within an hours drive of the coast my entire adult life, I have wade fished 200+ times in both murky bay and beach water, pre-dawn and post sunset, and I have never heard much less been around anything approaching this.

Being a life long Florida baw, I’ve seen enough sharks that I don’t go in the ocean too often. Not my place. Very sad story to read

I see them all the time as well, especially at first and last light of the day. Literally almost every time im in or around salt water. Did read that the first attack was in deeper water out at the first sandbar, and the second was actually one shark attacking two people at same time. Just anecdotal reasoning on my end, but I tend to believe the cop who said its likely the same rogue shark. I just see them too often when absolutely nothing happens to think its more than one.

I never said that. Never once. I said what you were babbling on about was, and is still, dumb.
