The name "Fifth Third" is derived from the names of both of the bank's two predecessor companies: Third National Bank and Fifth National Bank, which merged in 1908.

All the news here (and we’re just up the road) was still calling it an active shooter situation when he posted it.

Wrong. Not when I posted it.

It was still “developing” at that time. Article was updated as it was happening.

OK people. If someone starts shooting the place up, this is what NOT to do. How about stay on your feet and run the frick away? People are groomed to be such weak arse pussies these days. Dial 911 and start FaceBook Live is their solution to every problem.

That's not what's taught to kids or adults. They're taught to shelter in place and lock doors. This isn't bad advice except in the case where there is no quick and easy door to get behind, but people revert to their training in such situations and still shelter in place, ie hit the floor.

In my opinion, we need to be teaching people to fight, but I'm old school.

If the shooter wanted to be really effective he would have brought a pack of pitbulls instead of a gun.

Correct. The point I’m trying to make was that they were updating the article with time. Do you think that within that 4min timeframe that it could’ve been updated?

When I posted the link the only information was the two quotes in the OP. When I saw they updated the article I updated mine.

Why are you being such a douche about this? Are you having a bad day?

Thank God the shooter is dead. Saves the world the hassle of putting him through the legal system. I hate when the murderer lives. The "due process" just drags out the mourning period for the victim's families.

I have been saying "RUN!" for years. Funny thing is that DHS and the other people responsible for planning for these events are just now catching up. Turns out that the highest body counts are when people "shelter in place" and become easy trapped targets. The lowest body counts are when people make like animals in the wild and scatter. Think of the videos you see when people shoot at hogs or quail in the wild. One may get it but the rest take off and survive.

They are now teaching Run, Hide, Fight as the response to an active shooter.
