Agreed. He really should run the numbers. My son's daycare is $1500 per month, and that's just for one kid (granted, everything is expensive as hell up here, but I can't imagine daycare is cheap anywhere).

My kids went to a private sitter that reinforced how I raise my kids until they were 2. We paid $75/week per child. I only have 1 still there. My daughter went to a daycare that was a Montessori type. It was only $110 a week. This daycare put 16 out of 21(this is how many tested) kids into the advanced study schools in Jefferson Parish. It will be different costs everywhere, but not always expensive.

We don't have 3 kids but I couldn't be happier with my wife staying home with our kids. The house is clean, laundry done, and a home cooked meal every night when I arrive home.

Man, you could contract a school graduated caregiver from The Philippines for about 400 dollars per week as a nanny, possibly even less, if room and board are provided.

Where does one find this?

After my 3rd, it was time to get fixed. 3rd one was a surprise, and at my age, I can't afford to have a 4th, lol.

There are agencies that handle this stuff. You will have to pay for their visa and travel up front, but you won't be disappointed.
I actually know a girl from a great family right now, that would love the opportunity.I have known her since she was a little girl, and can vouch for her 100%.
She is 25 years old and just finished her certification testing this morning (Our time)Last night her time.
The hospital where she tested actually gave her a job on the spot, but the pay will probably be less than 50 dollars per week.
If you are serious, give me a way to contact you and I will let you know more about it.

The biggest part for me is my wife or I raising our kids, not some daycare worker. At least when they are infants at a minimum.

That is such an important time developmentally. Birth to 3rd grade is HUGE.

$24k/year for 3 kids

1 son in 1st grade - $10k
Twin (2) girls in K5 - 2 x $7k = $14k

$10k + $ 14k = $24k

What did you think I forgot? The check I wrote or my number of kids?

So you're not going to send your kids to K, 1st, 2nd or 3rd grades?

they got off light then... seems like every private school here in nashville is over 20k a year... might catch a little break for siblings, but not much.

I kinda agreed with him until then. I trust a highly dedicated and experienced private school teacher way more than my wife and I to teach my kids K-infinity.
