Let me get this straight:
1. Person calls police saying a crazy man has a knife and gun on campus
2. Police arrive and confront said (wo)man
3. Person has knife in hand
4. Person continues to ignore police requests to put down knife
5. Person yells at cops to shoot them
6. Person continues to walk towards cops
7. Cops warn several times and say they do not want to shoot or harm the person
8. Cops have to shoot person
9. It turns out the person was the person that called 911 and this was a suicide attempt
10. It turns out the person has severe depression and mental illness
11. People are rioting because they think this person should not have been shot
Did I get that right? People are fricking stupid.

Let me run at you with a multi tool and you armed with pepper spray. I guarantee I would get to you and cause some pretty sever damage with that multi tool, even if you sprayed me. The spray doesn't incapacitate you, especially if you are off your rocker to begin with, or if you the user of the pepper spray were to miss.

Earlier Monday, the GBI said that it had been determined that Schultz made the 911 call to Georgia Tech police alerting them of a suspicious person on campus. In the call, according to the GBI, Schultz described the person as a "White male, with long blonde hair, white t-shirt and blue jeans who is possibly intoxicated, holding a knife and possibly armed with a gun on his hip."
This "it" person called the cops on itself and reported a suspicious person as as possibly having a gun.
"IT" set this shite up. Well frick the little it. It got what it deserved.

At the two academies I was at, we had to take a direct spray in the face from a foot away THEN go wrestle a noncompliant subject to the ground. OC spray does not do anything to a fired up, aggressive subject.

Hmmm, this would be a NOPE. The 911 call made by this he/she/they reported himself being possibly armed with a knife and gun. No cop will get in any trouble putting down a person in this situation!

Exactly! IT set this up for attention or whatever sick purposes it had. IT reported there was possibly a gun. It is completely responsible for what went down. It wanted to be a martyr or to start shite or do a suicide by cops so mommy and daddy could sue the cops/university and get money.

I respectfully disagree as I too have been hit by OC Spray on a few occasions. It's not that it doesn't do anything to a fired up person, in my own experience it fires up a fired up person. Kinda like gasoline on a fire. It's a good tool but it will make a jacked up mental/ drunk person a lot more agitated and aggressive.
