You’re overpaying in taxes. Might want to get that checked out

So which is it: coding or welding? Or is it roofing now?
Better go with welding. It won't cost you 100 grand, and there are no shade trees on a roof.
Seriously, though, what the frick? Stop blowing money! I know a married gen Z, or what the hell ever early 20s people are called these days, who just bought an old, but decent, house with a little land and a detached garage workshop. The only thing they have is the house note and his truck note. She and her folks paid for her college one semester at a time. She's a teacher he's a cop and they are living within their means. Stop blowing money you don't fricking have!

My financial situation:
37 years old. Wife is 38. 2 kids under 10. Combined income: ~$140k.
$214k left on mortgage (purchased in 2020)
$38k total debt for two cars (both purchased in 2022 - yuck)
That’s it.
It’s absolutely possible to be a millennial and not be a complete frick up in life.

Same. Went to LSU on a full ride. Never had to take out loans. I know kids that took out loans to be in fraternities and live in apartments despite parents living in/around BR.

I have mortgage debt. My non mortgage debt totals $6-7K, nothing wild at all like this study says.

I look around at the vehicles the average couples are driving and I really don't see how they are affording it. Nearly every household has at least $100k of cars parked in their garage.

I'm in WAY more debt than $100k.
I also save 15% of my gross income pretax and 25% of my net income

with 67 percent of millennials having some amount of debt on a credit card.

For the non-millenials can we get a median number instead of mean? I'd also like a breakdown of the info so I can do a differential analysis. While we are at it let's throw in policies created by boomers that caused the drastic rise in higher education and medical expenses.

Well I got a really good rate financing the mastercraft wake boat for 20 years. Lay off.

Unbundling student loans from private banks and federally backing them
Pushing all kids go to college, effectively rendering high school degrees worthless and dramatically watering down the value of an undergraduate degree
But this still isn’t the boomer’s fault. College students are 18 year olds. Legal adults. We should have made better decisions.

Only a boomber or backwoods Lousiana fool would buy a mastercraft. Wakesetter is where it's at.

I make great money for a 34 year old and I see what some of my friends are driving and where they are living and I think how the frick much do you make?
I know comparison is the thief of happiness, but damn. I’ve got 3 friends in the garden district in NOLA, 3 in the garden district in BR, and all driving full sized trucks or big suvs.
I should have gone into banking.

I thought they were told their almighty government would relieve all of that paper money. They needed to get UberEats to deliver 12 meals a week and pay $16 a drink at the local bathhouse.

And this is why, at some point in the future, the US economic system will totally collapse.
