The problem with relying on these daily numbers is we don’t know when these tests were performed. I know people that are going on nearly 2 weeks waiting on results while others that took the test towards the end of last week already have results. No way of knowing if it’s accurately reflecting the current trends or not

Baw why do you think New Orleans has such a high murder rate? Because of the smaller population size compared to places like Chicago. If you have more of something, like deaths, in a place with a smaller population the number per capita is higher.

I'm pretty surprised people don't know how 'per capita' works. Then again there were a bunch of people who didn't know how to calculate percentages in the early days of Covid.

It’s been fun to watch people perform gymnastics when these graphs are posted so it would fit their own narrative and try to explain that nothing is as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

I don't have an opinion one way or the other yet in regards to LA's deaths trending higher than Italy's so far. It will be interesting to watch in the next week. People would rather ignore it than keep an eye on it.

Too small a sample size yet. We have outbreaks in two nursing homes which is akin to setting gas ablaze. I have no clue the demographics of Italy's first 52 deaths.
I will say that next week is going to be bad. What you hope is that we peak faster than Italy/Spain and start our descent. If numbers start leveling out in the next 7-10 days, we should all be very thankful.
