Generally I’m on your side, but if the government shuts down your job, at no fault of your own, I feel like they owe you. Especially after this long. It’s not exactly a handout when the government shuts your income down.

IMO they should make sure that people that actually lose their job get a stimulus check. Not everyone under a certain income level. You have people that are over that and lost their job so they didn’t get a penny.

People who say that there better not be another stimulus check are no different than the people who say we need to shut down until there is a vaccine.

They generally speak from a position of economic insulation.

Your ignorant arse might want to take an economic class. A stagnant economy is bad for all of us. The whole idea of the stimulus checks is to get people to buy products and services so that we all win.

I’ve been working this whole time taking care of Covid-19 patients, I don’t need an economic lesson. My life has not changed and what I see from when I go to the grocery store, the poor are not suffering.

Let's remember that unemployment is paid through taxes from the employer. It's not welfare. People that exhaust it are only hurting themselves.

This is completely different than giving every American who makes less than 100k, 2k, and every family who makes less than 200k, 4k.

If your job was shutdown, or you lost your job due to this nonsense, then I have no problem with you getting help.

I used mine on landscaping services a month ago. Not only was the owner so appreciative, but his brother was working for him, as he is a laid off GM for a fine dining french quarter restaurant. He flat out told me that his life is in the toilet, as those places do not have carry out/delivery options due to location and the market. There was so much uncertainty at the time. The check was not meant to be put in a savings account, and people who are doing that are worse than a person who lives off of handouts.

I felt great about taking the governments money. They take enough of mine as it is.

Well it seems the used car dealerships have benefited in the NBR area from the 1st round of checks. "New" car tags everywhere and we are averaging 1-2 a week broken down in our business parking lot.

At least this bill had a shred of intent to fund those hurting and middle class. The first bill was a slush fund for the wealthy with loopholes and pass thrus.
