There is almost no chance that Starship will survive re-entry given how easily the heat tiles are falling off. But getting that test data as it burns up in re-entry would be a massive win.

If they can get it to where the launch pad is not damaged they can do this a lot more often until they get it right

Will the heat build up that much if they are not actually going into orbit?
Does anyone know the max altitude they are going for?
Should just add some ceramics into some flex seal and paint that bitch.

Looks like 90 minute flight duration. Not bad for a 21,000 mile flight!!

They will also attempt a "soft" landing of the first stage in the GOM. As far as the starship, I've heard conflicting information as to if they will full on splash or have a controlled splash.

If they can get the booster to perform the flip to attempt a soft landing on this attempt that would be amazing.

That’s the current rumor. Nothing official.
But I believe they aren’t allowed to launch on weekends as per agreement with city.

Elon tweeted that a grid fin actuator needs to be replaced. They can close the beach five weekends per year so can launch on a Saturday or Sunday if need be.

Looks like Starship is down on the booster... now to see if it's all lined up and then attach the fueling lines with the quick disconnect

So if they had gotten to launch today... they would've had a 2-hour window to get the rocket airborne

Tomorrow's launch window is only 20 minutes long due to already approved traffic entering the area
