Interesting story to say the least:
"My battle with cancer really prepared me for space travel," Arceneaux, who now works as a physician assistant at St. Jude, told The Associated Press. "It made me tough, and then also I think it really taught me to expect the unexpected and go along for the ride."

Going through cancer treatment as a child probably would make you a little nuts..

She graduated SJA same year I graduated CHS. Talk about fricking nutty...I remember her tagging along with my ex's group of friends and she gave off mad home school vibes.

Still jelly though, I'd love to be kicking it in space.

Word up.

Saying IWNHI isn’t taking anything away from her other accomplishments. Those are impressive.

Not only that but she’s spent time in Spain and South America (Peru maybe) working as a travel nurse and studying abroad

Shortly after that visit, she received life-altering news when she was diagnosed with bone cancer at 10.

I'm sure having bone cancer at 10 years old would keep you out of the classroom for a bit.

Considering most of the fricked up stories that end up as front page news, I would say this is a refreshing change. You go girl.

Beat cancer as a ten year old, give back by working at St. Jude's as an adult, and go to space. OT: "Ehhh let's critique her physical appearance on a site some of her family and friends might read."
