You do realize that sound doesn't. An explosion creates a pressure wave that goes out first. That's what broke the windows
Oh. Well how does the pressure wave shatter glass but doesn’t bust the eardrums.

That’s a fact. Great man and a great family. I remember the explosion and aftermath vividly. I was at OPJH at the time.
Yes, I was at LSU with his nephew. Great guy.

West Monroe has 45 year mayoral terms. He can get more done without having to worry about elections all the time.

Eardrums are flexible and glass is not, retard.

Hey Paul. What did they say caused the explosion?
Supposably it was a small minor explosion of a propane line?
Had it reached other parts of the plant, there would be a big dent in southeastern United States.
I've always heard That it was a top secret facility producing the worlds jet fuels among other things for different governments throughout the world?
But that's always been here say.

But an eardrum is just a little flimsy piece of tissue. They do pop sometimes.

It was loud, really unimaginably loud.

My sister in law represented Exxon and believe it or not they finished settling that just a couple of years ago.
Exxon has bought up and continues to buy a lot of homes in Standard Heights surrounding the plant.

That first picture looks like the William's plant explosion in Geismar a few years back and not Sterlington.

Yes. But it doesn't cause deafness.

You're right, it was mislabeled on the search site.
Funny story about that explosion, is that I was at that plant making a delivery in the spot that it blew up the day before.

Dave Norris,
Was just defeated for re-election.
I remember the Sterlington explosion was reported in Autoweek magazine, of all places, because it was one of only two (I believe) plants that made nitromethane (Drag racing fuel).

I was in a house in St. Amant and the house shook.

Glass is a fragile silicon crystal lattice made mostly by man
Ears are made by God and much stronger.
Moral of the story: real tits are better than fake tits.

I lived on Evangeline St. when Exxon exploded on Christmas Eve, late 80's. It blew some of our neighbor's windows out. I remember hearing you could see the smoke almost to New Orleans.
I was in Southdowns, shook the house and rattled windows, left the house shortly after the explosion, and stopped at McDonalds on Perkins at College, when I got out of the car I noticed the sky was getting progressively darker as the smoke blocked out the sun. Got on I-10 heading East, as I traveled I checked my rearview mirror to see how big the smoke plume was getting. I could still see it in Lafayette, and since I new where to look for it I could make it out between Rayne and Crowley.

My step-dad (dept. head at exxon) had to testify in quite a few court cases about the broken windows
All i know is that most of the cases were real
Some were fake (ppl trying to get money for broken shite)
I was at my dad's house when it happened... basically Lanier @ Prescott... the whole house shook from the explosion

It is used as a racing fuel, but that is a pretty small segment of its use, Nitromethane is largely used as a industrial solvent, and in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, pesticides, explosives, fibers, and other materials.
