I lived off Sherwood Forest too and it was loud as crap. Didn’t shatter glass, but windows shook and you definitely knew something bad happened. It was so loud we thought the gas station a few blocks away must have exploded. I was 12 or 13.

I was working in the lab at North Monroe hospital that day. I drove a tech to Sterlington to look for her child, drove right in front of plant and saw one body...discovered her grandmom had gotten the child and raced back to lab. Treated 147 injured at hospital and sent a team to the site. Most of that team suffered quite a bit at what they saw.

My mom said she heard it in Holly Ridge. I remember that day well.
