PIERRE PART – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Derek M. Granier, 25, of 2307 Oak Alley Drive, Port Allen, LA, in connection with the theft of a boat, motor and trailer from the Pierre Part area.
On February 15, 2019, deputies responded to a complaint regarding the theft of the rig from a residence on Shell Beach Road.
Detectives initiated an investigation into the theft and developed information which led to the boating rig being located in the Iberville Parish area.
Detectives from Assumption Parish assisted by Iberville Parish contacted the individual who was in possession of the boat and further learned that they had purchased the rig from Derek M. Granier.
Detectives interviewed Granier and the suspect admitted that he had stolen the boat from the Shell Beach Road area and had sold it to the individuals in Iberville Parish.
A warrant was obtained for Derek Granier’s arrest and he was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on Monday, April 01, 2019 on one count of:

*Felony Theft

Granier remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
