No. It really isn't. In a thread about the attack and it's immediate aftermath, all that needs to be discussed is updates on the situation. Not perceived causes or reasoning.

Keep the discussion on topic and politics never will come up in it.

Sorry, but when details are scarce or redundant, it's where the thread will inevitably turn

Like someone else said, it's practically impossible to separate terror attacks and politics. Deal with it

Its really not that impossible.

A 40 page thread with ~700 posts and there are only 3 or 4 posters using it as a podium for their political rhetoric

True. That was a BS move. Why do people assume that if you realize that the current president is an idiot that you nescessarily loved the last president? It's truly surprising. But I guess those are just the people that vote for candidates based on the "R" or "D" by the name.

I do agree with this. While I post on the political board very little, when I do.. and I express my dislike for Trump, I always feel like I need to let everyone know I am a registered Republican, but considers myself an Independent and that what I am about to say doesn't automatically make me a liberal. Because if you post something negative about Trump, then there are posters who will automatically call you a "liberal".

The first president of the US of A disapproved of political parties and in summary, said that when people start putting party above country it will decay the country within (don't believe me, google it) and well.. He was pretty dead on.

It is well passed time for us to go back to the ME with a real show of force. And this time, we need to not give a damn about what the press says. These people have to be stopped, civilian casualties suck but it is a part of war. This stuff will keep happening with even more regularity until we put a stop to it.

We need to go scorched earth on their asses. They want to meet their "God" so badly, then we should pay 99% of the way. They want this war so badly so we should give it to them. Start in Israel and roll east. Push those fricks into the sea, and grease the bullets with bacon fat like John Pershing.

rue, but these arguments seem to be framed in the sense that you have to be all in on everything your side does. Is Trump an ideal president? Far from it, but he seems to be the only one taking a legit, non PC vantage.

I'm going to clarify my position on the current president if y'all even care. I'm sure some people won't care because Trump is their man, but maybe you in particular would like to know where income from.

My critisizm of Trump isn't based solely on his policies although I find them to be simplistic to the point of funny. I mean, does he believe a physical barrier is the answer to the immigration problem we have? That's akin to a kid thinking a blanket over his head will keep the monsters away.

My critisizm of trump comes from his obvious lack of intelligence, his unprofessional demeanor that is required in politics, his conspiracy theories, disrespect for free press, his narsasism, his outright lies, his disrespect for the citizens of the United States, and his last but not least, his pathology.

It's not his politics. It's his lack of politics.

Now I'm going to stop talking Trump because I do believe this is too far away from the OP topic.

Politics and terrorism are inseparably intertwined

But I do think the tired, boring pro/anti Trump posts can be avoided. I don't see what they really add to the discussion.

I'm sure there are democrats out there who are the same way, I just don't encounter them in South La, but there are a large number of republicans who view themselves as conservatives or republicans primarily and Americans second

so you think just the number of injured and killed is all we should be talking about?

the specific cause and if there are any other potential attacks in the works should be off limits?

The only way war should be fought. Total annihilation. You have to be so brutal, and so absolutely overwhelming that you completely break the other sides will to fight. You show them that they either give up, or you will kill every last one of them. Men, women, children, and dogs.

Compassion and empathy have no place on the battlefield.

A short war is a good war. And the only way to have a short war, is to be utterly devastating.

Solid plan, no way this could possibly backfire. You should lead the assault
