Those are really cool. Have no read past the first page but do you ever paint the tanks up like they are muddy? Like with dirt on the tracks and slung up the sides? That would look pretty good.
I’ve experimented some doing it but didn’t like the results. I’ll keep working on it though until I get it like I like it.

What are you balsa builders using for tissue dope these days? I used Pactra back in the day, but doesn't seem to be made now.

My tissue dope for the balsa is just elmers school glue cut with water.
I’m very liberal with the dope when I build the models for display because I use tracing paper to wrap them. Tracing paper can withstand all the coats of paint.
I use the dope incredibly sparingly when I build the balsa models to fly. I also use the tissue paper provided in the kits to the keep the weight down for my flying models.
I’ve never heard of Pactra.

One of the most iconic Luftwaffe pictures of the North African campaign. I’ve got a BF109 in my stash that I think I may to in honor of this photo as long as I have the correct version.

I’ve enjoyed this thanks.
I had probably 2-3 dozen in my parents house for Katrina. Have not gotten back into it but am trying woodworking now.

I think that your Stuka is spot on...

Thanks. One thing I like to do is look for historic examples and build those. When I built that Stuka I found a print of that camouflage pattern on a JU87 and based my build on it.

Thank you. I’m glad you’ve enjoyed it. I think going forward as I finish kits I’ll share more of my work here.

Always cool when people appreciate what you do/create. With this joint, it could have gone either way for you. I'm glad this thread got some positive feedback.

You’re very right. I’ve seen and experienced both extremes here.

What is that one that looks like a Wespe? It's on the Pzkw II chassis but has a heavier field artillery piece.

Strumpanzer II Bison. It’s a 15 CM howitzer. Only a handful were produced. They were all sent to North Africa and lost there.

Those are fantastic. I particularly love the Devastator.

Darth, nice looking stuff. I had a B17, Spitfire, and P40 that I was proud as hell of when I was 12 or so. Mostly just build gunpla these days, don't have the space to really paint etc. Built 12 kits since work from home started in March.
Also Model Box and Homewood Toy and Hobby are great places, we've probably walked past each other at some point.
