If i brought you into my house you’d never know there was one model here unless I took you to my model room upstairs.

As crazy as it sounds, I’ve never once built a Star Wars model. I stick almost exclusively to WWII era aircraft and armored vehicles. I’ve built a few warships from that era as well along with some Cold War era aircraft and armored vehicles. But 90% of my collection is WWII era.

Do you want me to tell you what the inside of a vagina feels like?

I love the SU-152 Beast Killer.

I’ve seen some models like these at a local toy store in Birmingham.

Which one? Homewood Toy & Hobby? I go there sometimes. Most of mine come from the Model Box in Hoover or I order them from Amazon. Oak Mountain Hobby is also a good place to get paints, though their model selection isn’t great. I really wish Hobby Lobby would get some different and better quality kits.

For paint do you airbrush or use rattle cans for the big body pieces or are you brushing those? Looks like you freehand some paint. Impressive stuff. I finished about 6 cars this summer. I got my first Military Jet for Christmas it is a F15-C eagle. Have not started it?

I use to airbrush but stopped about 20 years ago. I like to take my time and enjoy the build and brush painting goes along nicely with this.

Thanks. And yes it takes patience and attention to detail. One of the things I really enjoy about building models is I can go into my mode room, close the door, listen to Spotify or a pod cast and just relax and unwind in my own little world. I primarily work on my models Friday nights after everyone goes to bed and Sunday afternoons. Sometimes though I’ll take a Friday off to spend a day at my model desk. Those are my favorite. It’s my little Fortress of Solitude.

I do. I’ve done some in the past but didn’t like the results. I’ve bought some weathering kits and plan to incorporate them into upcoming kits.

It is an art, for sure. You can practice on all sorts of stuff, though.

Are you familiar with Micromark?
