Lots of dodge haters in here.
That car is going to be fricking amazing.
"But it won't turn!"
bullshite. For a car of it's weight, it handles beautifully.
"It's not real American"
It's dodge. Close enough.
"It's ugly"
New mustangs are hideous. Chevy can't figure out a design that sells.

Meh.
It's great for it's purpose.
Seems like something that would be a third or fourth car in terms of usability.

Would love to have one.
I just realized the other day how fast Tesla cars are. Stunningly fast.

Thing could be a Bugatti in a straight line but still handle like a boat.

Yeah, those 4 banger Subarus are really teaching those 800hp Hellcat owners a lesson.

People always knock the challenger for its handling as though they truly care about handling. Like they’re tracking their dailies on the local road course every weekend.
They actually handle fine for their size, but in truth the Challenger is a GT car. Big, comfortable, fast, surprisingly practical/efficient. It’s one of the best cars to cruise in. It is getting long in the tooth, but a replacement should be coming in 2 to 3 years IIRC.

It’s a badass car. No doubt.
Thing is, track inspired cars are those that identify with the likes of Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc
The legends in automobiles. In certain areas (ie North GA, CO, anywhere with winding country roads), it actually means something and a Hellcat would kill you.
Straight line cars are one trick ponies. Period.
Yep. From a stop light, the Cat would beat a GT350R, ZL1 1LE, and likely a Z06.....keeping it American here. BUT, it is no where near the gem those other three are. They are world class performance machines. Not neighborhood dragsters.
The brotherhood of muscle is horse shite. It’s a Hollywood farce.
I’d happily take a an ACR for weekend fun though

99.99% of which never see a track or tested on a winding road. The few that do see a track, mostly a drag race or Texas Mile type event.
At least the owners of cars like the Hellcat are more honest in what they are spending their money on.

The hispanic guy that painted my house has a Hellcat Charger, and let me drive it. I've never been a fan of Dodge, but holy shite, that thing was awesome. Big, roomy and comfortable, but absolutely screamed. I was impressed. He lets his 17 year old son run it at the drags on weekends.
This guy also just bought his wife a fully loaded Escalade. Almost 200k in cars and he paints houses. I'm in the wrong business.

Well the world class performance machines are also priced accordingly. The Challenger/Camaro/Mustang offer good performance for a good price. Apart from comparing hp/tq, Porsche Ferrari and Lamborghini should be left out of the conversation.

If I was going to spend that kind of money on a muscle car, I'd wait for the new GT500. Leaps and bounds above this car.

I'll take your word on it, but I don't have a reason to doubt you.

Dodge just "sounds" like 'Merica.

Here's where you lost me. The GT looks good, but it is kind of a chick looking car. The old school looking one with a wider, blockier grill looks good, though. And are you kidding about Chevy? I've counted almost as many Camaros as Challengers and Chargers together on the streets. Even so, it doesn't have to look that good when it performs that good--it competes with baseline Corvettes, a car literally in another class above it.

Over/Under on how many of those will be sitting in the parking lot of the new Bama football nutrition center this fall?
