2018+ Honda Odyssey drivers. Cabin noise?

Hondas are generally not as quiet or smooth as Toyotas. They are much more agile and quicker though.

Road noise is no issue with the 2019 not sure about the 18. However if you are using the Bluetooth the road noise picks up horribly for the other person on the phone.

See if your husband can do some research for you

I don’t know that the road noise is much different between the newer Odyssey and sienna. But the ride is more plush in the sienna. Hondas have always been more taught in the suspension.

If you do get the Honda immediately disable the VCM, it causes nothing but long term problems and doesn’t do much for fuel mileage.

I have heard availability is much better in the Honda.

Run like hell. I have a 2018 Odyssey purchased brand new. Around a dozen recalls. First major problem was a week after I bought it. The drivers side rear sliding door refused to close while at a soccer tournament. Drove the family home on the interstate with the door wide open. Went to the dealership and asked for a rental while they fixed it. The service lady's first question was if I purchased the extended warranty. I said we are either going to do this the correct way, or I'm heading to the sales floor and we are doing this the loud way. 500 miles past the 60000 mile warranty, it developed a leak in the body seam that allowed water into the power tailgate control module. That was about $700. Transmission took a shite at 70000 miles and that was $5000. It has had many other minor quirks. Run like hell.

Damn.

Maybe I'll just find another sienna and deal with it.

Kids are the reason we have it as they are tall and these midsize suv's won't cut it.

Tahoe/expedition is out of the question.

In 11 years of ownership I've only changed tires, brakes, and an alternator (knock on wood) and I've driven the shite out of it.

Bought a 2019 Odyssey EX-L. No noise.

Involved in a total loss accident and just purchased a 2023 Odyssey Touring. Still no noise. And the acceleration hiccup that intermittently happened in the 2019 engine is not present in the 2023. It really is a very smooth ride.

I have a 2018 ex-l. Road noise doesn’t seem to be a problem at all. It’s much quieter than my truck.

It’s had too many problems for me to actually recommend it to anyone though. The battery is way undersized. The sliding doors have way too many problems. I’ve heard about transmission problems, but haven’t had any yet. (I’m still under warranty for transmission, so I assume it will go out once that expires.) And I swear the Honda dealerships hire the absolute worst mechanics. They never find the problem, and default to the most expensive “fix” that doesn’t work.

I also don’t think that Honda is standing by their product. The sliding door issues should be a recall because sometimes you need to drive it with the door open. But then they wouldn’t be able to scalp $1200 to “fix” an obviously failed design. Did I mention the “fix” doesn’t work?
