re: 2018+ Honda Odyssey drivers. Cabin noise?

I have a 2018 Odyssey and road noise isn’t that big of an issue.
My biggest gripe is there aren’t enough rear vents for passengers during the summer. It’s best if you can start the van and let it cool down for a good 15 mins before getting in.

Most people here will be like UGH Kia, but you should seriously consider the Kia Carnival. I got one of the first Carnivals available in May 2021. Have had zero issues with it. I'm at 12k miles so far. It's quiet, it is huge inside and it is beautiful, for a mini-van. I got the base model and I'm perfectly happy with it. It was $33k and had all the safety bells and whistles that I wanted.
Very smooth ride. I have hauled a king size bed with mattress and boxsprings, a full load of 9 foot length pine paneling from a home remodel, an 8' bookcase and chest of drawers together, plus when I moved here from Norcal I had two huge dog crates, smaller pet taxis, about 25 boxes full of mementos, two suitcases, and all of my indoor plants, guitar and two bicycles. Had everything I needed for the next 3 weeks until my moving truck showed up.
I don't have kids so I usually drive it as a 2 seater, middle seats removed and backseats folded down flat. It can haul more than a full size truck bed can. Plus 3500 tow capacity and best in class warranty.

We looked at one yesterday.
They are hard to get and they are asking 45k and up for em.
They are so new the used market is slim to none.
It sent me back to the sienna/odyssey route.
They do look nice and are well equipped.

For the base model? Wow. The dealerships in the bay area were charging 5-6k over MSRP. I test drove an SX model there and when I decided that was the vehicle I wanted but not the trim, I took a bus up to Humboldt and bought the LX model for sticker price and then drove it 4 hours home. It might be worth looking for one in a less populated region where dealerships can't afford to risk community goodwill by jacking up prices. That's what the dealership told me, they would lose their reputation if they attempted to do what the bay area dealers did.

Yep.
I usually do a several hundred mile radius search.
I've had two vehicles shipped over and have had to drive to get one to get the best pricing.
Market here within 250 miles is high for them.

That sucks. If you find a dealer that doesn't mark up and you can tolerate waiting, maybe ask if you can put a deposit down on the next LX they get. If you're not picky about color it might work.

We were able to negotiate $2500 off. Walked out of the door at $50k total after TTL and fees. We have 4 kids, and the rear entertainment system is a lifesaver. With the EX-L, we went through 3 portable DVD systems that never lasted longer than a year, so it was worth the upgrade.
We purchased at Team Honda in Opelousas. Ask for Damond Chavis.
ETA: Honda Covington would have given us same or slightly better deal for the Touring, but we didn’t want to make the drive from Lafayette. I think Tim was the salesman over there. Seemed like he would hustle for a sale.

Hondas are generally not as quiet or smooth as Toyotas. They are much more agile and quicker though.
We’ve had both. Honda is louder, but I don’t think it is quicker or more powerful at all. The sienna had way more get up to help merging and whatnot.
The sienna also had more smart features, like a stowable 8th seat.
