This is the survey after several years of ownership....so the results don't surprise me.

Lexus, Toyota, Buick, and Chevrolet well above average. No shocker there.

Jeep, Ram, Ford, and Dodge towards the bottom. Fiat even worse than them. Definitely not surprising.

What I get from this is that the Toyota/Lexus family of vehicles is a wise choice.

...and Ford still seems to live up to the Found On the Roadside Dead slogan.

I'm feeling better about not purchasing that extended warranty.

The study, now in its 28th year, examines problems experienced during the past 12 months by original owners of 2014 model-year vehicles. Overall dependability is determined by the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100), with a lower score reflecting higher quality. The study covers 177 specific problems grouped into eight major vehicle categories.
So it's a study of problem within the first year of these vehicles? Hmmm.

Our Honda has had repetitive issues with the CVT. Not impressed.

Read more carefully. It's the past year of models several years old.

Fiat appears to be so bad that they brought down the average. I bet Audi would be below average if Fiat was not on the scale.

Yep, my bad. So they're looking at the 3rd year of the vehicle I guess.
