..That much power, you'd drive straight into a wall.. good thing is no one would see you then either b/c they'd have to pick you up with sponges and Ziplocs

Every person I knew that bought a Focus absolutely hated it after a few years.

It's a Ford....and it's a souped up and most expensive version of one of worst Fords at that. What may be a borderline, fairly low risk car at $18,000 is just irresponsible at $30,000.

Sooo , you're going to compare a the crap econo box car to this?? Granted it may look the same and have the same name, but it's a completely different animal after that

That's the point. Sports compacts like the Subaru WRX have balanced practicality and affordability of a normal car with performance of a compact sports sedan. Ford is expected list this Focus for a price that will dictate that it compete with purpose-built sports sedans and performance vehicles. The higher performance running gear and equipment will mean more costly repair bills for a car whose basis is, by design, disposable, cheap, and not particularly reliable.

Sports compacts on that level are going to have a tough time in a country where they'll share showroom space with relatively affordable Camaros and Mustangs that can actually turn a corner.

Maybe I'm just more practical and pragmatic when it comes to cars....but I'd go with a Mustang, Camaro, or step up to a Chevrolet SS or one of the many very good imported sports sedans.

I can get anything Ford makes or owns at the Ford Motor Company employee discount.

I drive a Honda.

What does that tell you?

If Honda made a quick, AWD, 5-door hatch, I'd be the first in line. I love Hondas. On a separate note, can I use your discount?

used piece of chewing gum holds its value better than a Ford.

You responded to me so I'll reply what the heck does holding value matter to me when I've kept the car 11 years and put 142,000 miles on it? I still use it driving from Gonzales to Avondale every other day and back. When I get a new vehicle I'll keep this one and put it in Livonia so I can stop staying at the hotel there and just come back home when I get off the train.

That you're an idiot. Honda peaked back in the mid-90's in terms of quality and reliability.

You have got to be kidding. Honda and Toyota are well beyond every other manufacturer in terms of quality, reliability and resale.
